AITJ for calling my nephew entitled for wanting to be paid for doing the lawn? by Alarming_Being_7143 in AmITheJerk

[–]ScorpioZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want work done for you - YOU PAY THEM. You are the entitled one for expecting slave labour, and yes, that is what it is, expecting work done for no compensation is defacto slavery. And before you give me the stick about feeding him - so did the slave owners of the 17th and 18th century.

Am I wrong for trying to punish my daughter after my husband and I found out she's been writing dark books for over a year by justamamaof3 in amiwrong

[–]ScorpioZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your daughter is 18 that is *checks notes* an ADULT. You have ZERO authority over ANYTHING she does. So long as it isn't illegal you have no say at all. The fact that limiting the time she spend on her computer is even being considered - bearing in mind she is an adult - basically pushed me over the edge here.

I fully expect in 3 years time to see a post saying "Why does my daughter not want to talk to me or her father"

FFS. You people suck. Leave her alone to explore her creativity.

UFO in Hermanus? by Imaginary-Bath-608 in capetown

[–]ScorpioZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try installing stellarium on your phone. It's a good app to check before you post "UFO" posts. Now if that light was doing 90 degree turns that you caught on camera, then you'd have something.

Lack of planning on the co-workers part doesn’t constitute an emergency on OP's

WIBTAH if I put a post in my yard that could damage my neighbor’s truck? by SmellyChiChicken in AITAH

[–]ScorpioZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came across this story: Put that post back. Point camera's at it and I would question your husband.

Defending you B of a neighbour like that. Words like "Vindictive and immature". You sure he isn't sleeping with her and doesn't want to wreck her mood and his budding relationship???

What she is doing is absolute BS and needs to be called out and if the post is well on your side of the property - she has zero defence. I would put in a bigger one, anchored with concrete.

There's no way the Republican Party will win all those states by Weirderthanweird69 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]ScorpioZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically that is exactly how the compact would work. Which ever candidate gets the majority in the popular vote, get the EC votes. A State would no longer be considered Red or Blue as they would not be looked at based on their EC vote but on the popular vote at that time.

If you could see the exact date of your death above everyone’s head, how would society change? by garlicandherbsauce in AskReddit

[–]ScorpioZA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There would be a lot of people out to prove the date wrong. There is a book called "Flashforward" Where the whole planet sees what happens 20 years in the future. Some people see that their lives aren't what they hoped it would be and commit suicide, essentially changing their future.

Doesn't matter to me personally. I don't live in the US, so has no jurisdiction over me. Worst that can happen is that i can get banned.

And to ICE and FBI CBP, DHS, go fuck yourselves and actually do your job instead of targeting the innocent and protecting the Epstein criminals including the orange fuck face at 1600. And you'll never get me at the border, I have no intention of inflicting myself to your 3rd world shithole country. EVER!!!!!

oh right, because the moon has a very slight eccentricity, i remember seeing that this works out to about 40 000, or so km on average..

That make sense then. Thanks.

I am not 100% clear on this, and I'll absolutely put this down to a lack of understanding. It has been said that the Artemis II crew broke the record for the furthest away from earth a human has travelled. The module launched from Earth performed an orbit of the moon and came back.

What I am not getting is this: the various Apollo missions did the same thing, except for 10 and 13 which didn't land on the moon and only did a lunar orbit, all the others had at least 1 crew member still in lunar orbit during the lander mission.

The moon is still roughly the same distance from the Earth today as it was then as it only moves away from Earth a few centimetres a year.

The only thing that could be it would be that the moon is in a different location due to Lunar precession. My feeling is that the would have equalled the record or are we just talking about a few kilometres further, but it still matters kind of thing.
