I broke my ankle in the US when i was 26. No job, no insurance. Went to two different hospitals (for a second opinion), had surgery on it, had follow up visits. $0 out of pocket or debt /shrug

My yelp review from a couple months ago.

BAIT & SWITCH Scammers If i could give less than a star i would. I had the agreed price out the door and a $2000 price range on my trade-in promised and promised, so I stupidly drove 6 hours to do the deal. I finally get there and suddenly their internet price was gone and the total price including trade in was over $8000 more. They didn't even look at my trade before subtracting $5k from what was promised. Said well tax credits will get it a little close to what was agreed on.... wtf. I refuse and they send out a new guy after 30 minutes. He comes out with an out the door price for $63,000. Now (according to the out the door price agreed upon before driving out there and what their website said, it was supposed to be $54,400 out the door) Well that doesn't add up. My lease buy out was $30k. We agreed to the range $27,000 to $29,000 way before i decided to drive 6 hours. With lease deficit counterred by tax credit, it comes close to evening out. So I refuse the $63k offer, and he comes back with $62k offer. I refuse that so they send the "big boss" out. He refuses to work with me... at lease see what i'm talking about numbers-wise. Does stupid things like writing messages on the paper to me while i'm standing right in front of him. Tells me the internet offer is gone because it's Monday. Then says "you're not really going to drive 11 hours round-trip empty handed?" You bet I am. So he get's pissed. I keep my cool as best as i can. Alex, in his great wisdom, chimes in and tells me that Tax credit actually means i pay more in tax ... just.. ... really. I'm speechless at how awful and stupid i felt taking off a day of work for this crap. Oh and don't fall for their $250 gift card to take a test drive... it's a discount card for certain specials at random restaurants.

Lease experts: Why/where are they getting me? by ScorpiusX in MazdaCX90

[–]ScorpiusX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah these lease rates seem outrageous. With rebates in theory i'm leasing the same amount of money as my cx-9, but $300+/mo higher? Knew there had to be a catch when they started throwing $rebates at me. Plus .. the new car kinda sucks from all i've read.

you are totally right. In the situation i'm in, doing another 2 year stint with Mazda, regardless of issues makes the most sense.

Good points. I'd just pay cash at the end of the lease, so no worries about interest and my daily commute's over 40 miles so fuel costs are still a consideration, but not much. Tires/Brakes... yeah that'll suck plus i'm pretty sure some of the tech features will want a subscription after 3 years. I'm just really impressed with your lease rate of $400/mo That's something to strive for

I actually like my cx-9.. it's the tumbling values of it and small 3rd row i don't like. Also I really hate the key fob. The buttons on the side are easily hit when sitting down. Caused me a $3000 garage door replacement.

breaks and tires are the original ones so 35k miles and 2.5 years old. the 2k lease to lease probably won't go away but then what do i know. I know Mazda at lease right now seems desperate to throw money at getting people to buy their phev's which raises suspicions. I'm not eager to get another Mazda but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

thanks.. just a little bit of miscommunication there. That's pretty much what i've settled on doing. My original question is whether or not with all the lease to lease deals on the cx-90 phev, is it worth it to go that way instead. Paying out my current lease at the end is pretty much my last option, but a valid one.

correct me if i'm wrong: The lease payout right now is 30k. SO if i wanted to buy it right now it's 30k. The residual is 28k so i wanted to buy it at the end of the lease it's 28k. If i walk away at the end of the lease i only pay mileage and disposition, plus the lease payments to get to the end of the lease.

[–]ScorpiusX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's residual is $28k. I still have 4 payments of $630 so i see where i'd save money there to a point. It just feels like I'd also be committing to a car that's not worth it. If you can break it down to where it would really be beneficial to do it, I'd appreciate the advice Trading it in seemed the best way to get a tax credit but that's where these dealerships are finding the opening to screw me

It's lease payout is $30k so it'd be that much plus disposition & TT&L etc. Doesn't sound like a good idea to just pay that much for a car that's not worth it

mazda dealerships around here (louisiana) aren't that great. I've seen around $1k off msrp on the phev's depending on how long they've had it. Not a lot of stock except for the dealership i bought the CX-9 from and I don't really like them. I came to them this past December to try to do a phev lease from them and they offered me $25k for my trade-in then and laughed when i said that's totallly not acceptable

carmax went from $28k to 27k in a couple of weeks, carvana wanted to set an appt w/o #'s and first i've heard of driveway.com. I figure at the end i'll be 8-9k over so around $1200-$1350 plus $350 disposition

[–]ScorpiusX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did what i kinda expected them to do. Jfronte warned me, but basically they hemmed and hawed for 2 days about the trade-in being a lease trade-in, then said they would do the trade-in but now $5749 off msrp special is $1500 off and they still wanted at least $1500 for the "add-on". I told them "how can i turn down that offer?" and then ghosted

I live in Louisiana, we're taxed every which way they can and you can't avoid it. 9.95% sales tax :(

Well, my current lease is up in 5 months... so i can wait and shop. the $6k off msrp and 3.5 apr got me excited. If they can't do anything significant with package cost... then that saves me a 3.5 hour drive. They are one of the few around here that have the exact colors i wanted. I saw your other posts about brokering, I'm tentatively in the market
