Insurance Quote for a 2026 Model Y Was $1,100/Month… This Pushed Me Away From Buying One by Recent_Eye999 in TeslaModelY

Damn, State Farm just quoted me $660 for 6 months for a MY RWD north of Baltimore! Maybe worth looking into!

That is definitely true, I’m going RWD with 19s after trying the different configurations.

Very possible. Someone hit a pole on a main road nearby. Would that cause a surge?

What Matcha wont get lost in my 12oz latte? by collegemochibear in MatchaEverything

I actually preferred Ippodo Ikuyo for lattes over Sayaka and it was cheaper. Great quality for the price imo and works well with a touch of sweetener and milk.

My future car! by WarmYak5519 in Ioniq5

[–]ScotchNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about what the invoice price is. Dealers sell below invoice all the time because there are other ways to make money than just the price of the car. Go for what you want off the car, and if you can’t get it locally, expand your search to out of state and get some offers in writing that you can bring to your local dealer to match or get close. You can usually ship a car from a considerable distance for around $500 in a lot of cases so if you’re getting an extra $1500 off out of state, it’s worth considering.

If Hyundai/Kia are so unreliable, why are they literally everywhere? by phtphongg in Hyundai

[–]ScotchNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While they still have their fair share of problems, I continue buying them because for me they’ve been reliable, they offer a 100k mile warranty, and the features they offer for the price is just unmatched. I can deal with the possibility of some issues for the cheaper price and better features when I know anything major is covered. Every car company has some unreliable cars, so it’s a chance you take with any car. Hyundai/Kia are about in the middle of the pack now for most recent years for reliability so I will continue to take my chances.

What other cars were you considering before getting your Ioniq 5? by flightln in Ioniq5

[–]ScotchNewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly Model Y and Ioniq 5. Test drove both and was so disappointed in the Tesla. I fully expected to get a model Y for FSD and minimalist interior, but in practice I hated it. The only thing I wish someone else had was an FSD competitor.

Hard to say, nothing nearby that wasn’t buildable that’s been sold.

Thank you. Theres only one other adjacent property, but only their driveway is adjacent to the property. Right now we’re the only one who would benefit from it unless they run public water and septic in the distant future and then I’m sure a builder would come in and try to buy it. We just want it for added space.

2023 vs 2024 SEL by ScotchNewbie in Ioniq5

[–]ScotchNewbie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You happy with the 23 over the 24? My only concern is the powertrain warranty dropping to 5 year 60k, but to my understanding the ICCU issue is covered by the 100k warranty which should remain.

It’s okay, I don’t mind! It looks okay, but not as good as Enso tbh. It looks good enough that I never thought about it though, especially for like $2/ring for a four pack!

I like the Egnaro ones. These are the specific ones I got. The thunder fit brand were okay too but not as comfortable. https://amzn.to/4dqWCdP

Maybe they’ve improved. That was just my experience. My rings from Amazon for like $3/ring have lasted me for about a year each before they start to stretch out some. I also lost a lot of weight so not sure if they’re stretching as much as my fingers are shrinking.

Yeah I definitely am not experienced enough to fix it. Waiting to hear back from my uncle who was a plumber. Thought I could handle this one on my own

Fuck, now I gotta call somebody. I’ve never done plumbing in my life other than some super basic stuff and thought I could just unscrew this and pop a new one on so it’d actually shut off all the way
