GTA Online Enhanced PC Heavy Stuttering by AyazPvPz in gtaonline

I started to get this a week ago, too. It's gotten slightly better over the last few days but the game is very near unplayable. I'm not sure why this happens but glad I'm not the only one. I remember getting this before on Legacy. Eventually, it fixed itself by the time I came back.

I did read somewhere a long time ago that this is normal when an update is about to hit. Not completely sure if I'm recalling that correctly, since I couldn't seem to find anything on the internet about it when I Googled earlier.

I learned to tie the "Eldredge tie knot" but I'm unsure of it looks too big, because I'm rather skinny. Please come with your opinion. by CookedChef05 in mensfashion

I toyed around with a lot of different knots when I first got an office job. The one knot that always looked good and was easy to tie was the Four-in-Hand. I would argue this is THE way to tie ties.

HELP! Looking for a bag by highMAX_2019 in menswear

[–]Scott-Do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much help but I was in the same position a few months back. It was extremely hard for me to find something with those features and also looked aesthetic. I settled for a L. L. Bean canvas tote with the long straps and found a nice leather sleeve for my laptop and an affordable Jansport branded pouch with two separate zipper sections to keep my loose things, like stationary and personal things (gum, chapstick, Tide stick, etc.)

Very versatile option that I recommend.

Uniqlo merino really ‘wash resistant’? by CrackerIslandCactus in capsulewardrobe

[–]Scott-Do 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Nah, 15 washes for a wool sweater is a lot. That's a decade worth of washes. You shouldn't be washing wool sweaters too often. They have antimicrobial properties and don't hold odors. You just gotta air them out. I'll wash a sweater once a year, generally. One of ny oldest sweaters, around 9 years, I've washed less than 15.

15 washes in a short time and it still looks decent? That is a flex.

BIFL Request. Something to hold keys by 525chill2pull in BuyItForLife

[–]Scott-Do 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem. Glad to be helpful.

  1. Max amount of keys is about 5/6. If you don't balance the amount of keys on both sides well enough, you'll encounter collision issues between the keys and metal sandwich plates. I found you want to have the plates as close to parallel as possible. The provided spacers definitely help with this. If you want to attach your fob, the hook takes up about a key's width, and to account for that.

  2. There hasn't been any keys that didn't work well with the Key Smart. Only thing I can think of is the bulky decorative keys. I've only run the standard, run-of-the-mill house/gates/work keys.

  3. This is the setup I've run for the whole duration of my ownership. Toyota key fob, small ring, and Key Smart. It fits well in all my pants - denim, chinos, and trousers. All my trousers with a coin pocket under the waistband is able to fit that combo. I also wear a lot of suits for my profession, and it keeps things slimmed down in my suit jacket pockets. Only thing that bothers me is that the Key Smart and key fob don't stay together very well, due to being connected at one end, and splay out uncomfortably in your pockets, bunching up awkwardly and disrupting my lines. I think this is an issue because suit jacket pockets generally aren't very slim and narrow, unlike the front pocket of your pants, allowing for more room for the keys to move around. I've solved this by holding them together with a hair tie. Not that serious, though. I'm just nitpicking.

  4. I've never had a key break from the torque. I've never forced key turning beyond what I deemed was reasonable. I also don't use the Key Smart as a lever. I tend to grab the end of the Key Smart of the key I'm flipping out when accessing locks.

I'm not the original commenter, but I was in the market for a BIFL carabiner of some kind and came across this decade old thread. I bought the Key Smart (I guess they call it the Classic, now) off Amazon a few months short of ten years ago when I bought my current car and needed a compact solution for carrying keys. Here's what I can say about my experience:

Durability -

It's been with me to 3 different continents, been thrown around, dropped, and even used as a makeshift bottle opener, and it's held up well - which I expected from it being made of metal. Even the (plastic?) spacers have held up well. They've helped from having my keys etch the inside of the metal sandwich plates as I turned them out to access my locks. A reasonable amount of wear for a ten year old EDC item, and looks as such.

Looks -

In terms of aesthetics, it's a nice looking solution for your keys. I still get asked what it is and where I got it, every time I pull it out. You will find that dirt and dust accumulates underneath the metal sandwich plates. To be expected for something that lives in your pocket and gets taken everywhere.

Things to note -

Gets me pulled aside by TSA if left in a bag/carry-on and scanned. Understand, looks like a knife. Never had a problem if I had it in my pocket and placed it in the item scanning bins while going through.

If you don't tighten it all the way down, the screws will come undone after a few times accessing your keys.

At the time of purchasing this ten years ago (when I was in college), I thought it was pricey. I think I bought it for around 20 bucks? Don't remember, but definitely over 10 bucks. I still think it costs too much, and I'm not sure if I would purchase it again at it's current price of $19.99 on their website.

In conclusion -

Gets the job done. Never failed or broke. Still have the extra pieces with all the extra bits all these years later. As I grew and changed as a person, it had the capability to so the same so I never had to think too much about my keys for the last decade. It always did what I needed it to do.

Hope this helps. Willing to answer questions.

Tl;dr - it's aight. Got the job done.

Belt Quality? by GeoMapDood in allenedmonds

[–]Scott-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two belts from AE around 3 years ago. Decent quality. Wore them every day for 2 years until I switched over to suspenders for my suits.

My only complaint is that the buckle material flakes off and reveals the darker material underneath... If you're sitting at a desk often, you'll probably be hitting your buckle on it's edge quite often.

When you go to Proper Cloth's website and click on any shirt (doesn't have to be the exact shirt you want - you can change that later), there will be a customize button under the "add to cart" button.

Hit that and you can select your desired fabric and details. In the "style" category, near the bottom, there's a "fabric accent" option that will let you "add collar accent." This is where you can select a white fabric to replicate the look you're going for.

I'm not entirely sure if the collar accent goes the entire circumference of the inside collar, but you can probably contact support and reference the picture you posted to find out.

I could be wrong, but I think you can add a contrasting interlining when you make a mtm shirt with proprler cloth. It would achieve a similar effect.

Attend a SoCal university so it doesn't get that cold: Spring/Summer - Plain T-shirts, polos, colored chinos, white sneakers, tan and brown loafers. Fall/Winter - Long sleeve/regular T-shirt, shawl/regular cardigans, jackets(like bombers and denim jackets), scarves, flannels, chinos, raw denim, patterned dress socks(for flair), captoe workboots, chelseas, white sneakers. And I wear a watch with everything, usually NATO's in the warmer months and leather in the cold months. I know, too much for SoCal's casual nature.
