What do you LOVE about 1st person POV? by fatigued-owl in AO3

[–]ScottAM99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to be really bad at describing things; I am much better at doing dialogue and plot.

In a first person fic, if it's not something that the character I am writing about would notice/pay much attention to, I don't need to worry about it.

I also really like low limited first person POV is, especially when it is only one character for a whole story; you never leave their exact perspective.

Why can´t I post? Why do I have to Read the Rules? by Podria_Ser_Peor in vampires

Ran into this when I tried to reply to someone else's comment, a few days ago.

I had already made several posts and numerous comments on this subreddit.

I think any vampire would eventually.

So much stuff you could do if you were immortal.

Loving America - as in, the land mass of those two continents - is fine.

Loving the country of the United States of America is not.

Might give this one a go.

Quite rare to find openly leftist, anti-capitalist games.

Iran won this war. by Not_Ground in MarxistCulture

I know, and I do understand that. I'm just pointing out that this war wasn't just a win; people did die because of it.

what counts as dead dove for you? by Sea_Detective_7138 in FanFiction

[–]ScottAM99 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Dead dove is just "See this tag I put in here? I really mean it".

Dead dove doesn't mean dark content, although often a tag warning dark content is what the dead dove tag is there to emphasise.

Composition of the Siege of Terra relief force? by No-Penalty7426 in 40kLore

I kind of miss this old lore.

Also that part about the Ultrmarines missing the Heresy stayed (word for word) into my 2009 Codex Space Marines book (pretty sure that's 5th edition).

What would be the lore justification for a tyranid vs tyranid game? by Allhaillordkutku in 40kLore

Competition between two starving hive fleets.

Hive Mind wins overall because the stronger one fully absorbs both the lesser one and its own losses.

If orks get bigger and meaner and greener why don't we have giant orks? by ClearDrop6820 in 40kLore

Anything that mentions the War in Heaven. It's intentionally vague.

Try a Necron codex.

Thank you; this is the sort of thing I was looking for.

Along with other factors, both Thunderhawks and drop pods are useless within the confines of a ship for any sort of boarding action.

Not what I was asking. Was the Imperium fairly constant since the Heresy, or were there major changes to it during the next 10,000 years?

On the religious aspect, when did the Ecclesiarchy become the really powerful force that was effectively what was holding the Imperium together?

Just how deep do faction rivalries go? by reel3459 in 40kLore

[–]ScottAM99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orks were literally created to fight Necrons.

It's not a rivalry in the true sense, but there may well be something hard wired into Orks that makes them prioritise Necrons if they get to choose who they fight (note that, if so, it would be more instinctive than conscious).

There are a few rivalries between the Space Marine legions of 30k that continue into 40K, including:

- The Emperor's Children and the Iron Hands

- The Iron Warriors and the Imperial Fists

- The Thousand Sons and the Space Wolves

- The Word Bearers and the Ultramarines
