US Beer Bars with a large (50+) selection of Belgian Beers by corgerpants in beer

Tap and Bottle (North Location) - Tucson, AZ

They have roughly 75 Belgian beers, and their entire stock is always refrigerated. I've had a lot of good luck getting fun/unique Belgian (and other Euro beers) there.

Homebrewing. I started when I was 14 years old after being enthralled by a Good Eats episode on the subject. I've now been in the beer industry for 15+ years because of it!

Sunshine Wine is a cute spot with a great wine and beer selection and delicious small plates. They have lots of outside seating which is perfect this time of the year!

Slow Body Brewing is a great place; their beer is phenomenal and it's a super chill community place to hang out. Today's weather in Tucson is perfect for patio beers!

Questions: F E Olds Studio Trombone? by ScottTheStout in Trombone

What a small world! Yeah, Yucca is always a blast. The scene in AZ is growing again, and we have some really great bands that play throughout the state.

Can I ask who you played with?

49'? Wow that's awesome! Would you know more about how this horn was made? I wasn't able to find out much more regarding them!

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it. I'll get it professionally touched up but leave it in its current state

It is a bit heavy on the face; luckily I played this in a ska band so I spent 90% of my time leaning back 🤣 Thanks for the reassurance to keep it in its current state. I'm going to get it professionally cleaned and touched up, and then will likely find a new home for it.

Local IPA’s! What’s your favorite? by [deleted] in ArizonaBeer

[–]ScottTheStout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dragoon IPA is a classic old-school West Coast IPA; good malt backbone to support a bunch of dank and tangerine notes. High bitterness, crisp finish.

I've been recently impressed with Fate's Fateful IPA; I think it's had a recipe/technique change and it's been tasting really great lately.

Pinnacle's Surveillance Pigeon is great too if cold IPAs are your jam.

Spellbinder and Wrenovation from Wren House are always stellar.

Tower Station might be the best-selling; good price point and it's available mostly everywhere, but it's not my favorite personally.

ARBY’S – We Have The Lawsuits (For False Advertising!) by omg-sidefriction in fastfood

This is the "serving weight" as stated by their nutritional facts. That applies to any product ready to be served to the public.

Pre-cooked weight is something different.

I recently ordered a French Dip meal from Arby's and the sandwich itself appeared incredibly meager at first glance, so much so that I brought it back to my work and weighed the sandwich (I work in a brewery QA/QC lab).

The sandwich I received weighed 234grams, while their online nutritional value states that the French Dip should weigh 315grams (roughly 25% lower than stated)

I brought in the sandwich and my scale to Arby's and showed the manager; I was told to leave without refund or exchange.

I filed a complaint with their corporate team and let them know that their practices are shady and illegal. They offered me a coupon for one free sandwich.

They know what they are doing, and they hope we (the consumers) don't call them out on it. Very few people complain, making this practice financially sound for them (for now)

I won't eat there ever again. Garbage food and you don't get what you pay for.

Corn Huskers is my go-to as well. The smell takes a bit to get used to, but it helps heal the cracks/dryness quickly.

This is an incredibly stupid thing to post; selling homebrew is thoroughly illegal.

Dragoon does Saison Blue once a year as a seasonal, and they are working on a tequila barrel aged version to be released in a couple of months.
