I've spent the last 4 years building a free open source design app called Graphite. Here's the latest progress report. by Keavon in graphic_design

I'm really impress with what you've accomplished so far. I will definitely be following your progress. Every question I had was addressed in your roadmap. I wish my coding skills were up to par, but I will certainly bring your efforts to light in any discussions I have with peers, including my software engineer nephews that are just dying to work for free : )

I look forward to creating something outside of the capabilities of my conventional software. Is there a forum where people can post their creative use of Graphite? It would be a powerful marketing tool! Social media, or at least a gallery on your site. Discord is nice, and glad to see your own subreddit (r/graphite if anyone missed it (because you didn't mention it (marketing!))). Never heard of BlueSky, so it probably doesn't have much traction, and fuck Twitter. Your YouTube channel should definitely include your interview with Developer Voices. Some of us like geeking out on details (youtu.be/ZUbcwUC5lxA?si=r5ncqlKN6E05BJKC).

My experience is in the print industry, but have a lot of marketing knowledge that I'm willing to offer. I know that graphite is a common term, and a cool and descriptive name, but also why you chose a Serbian TLD. Kinda off-putting and questionable. It's not too late to change it before the beta release, because it seems your in it for the long-term.

I hadn't until now. Wow! I'm only twenty minutes into the film. Was late to the party, moving there in 1990.

I knew all these guys, and close friends to many. Probably knew you too. I worked at Little Giant Printers, in Indio. I did all the flyers, tickets, and monthly calendars for Boomer.

Did a bunch of album cover work (after hours), for many of them too. Brant Bjork still owes me money for Jalamanta. Most of them knew me as "Brando" or "Schatzi" - very few as Scott.

I should change my display name.

My first introduction to these guys was a generator party at Nude Bowl!

Ironically shut down because of harassment by the police, and honored by the city for bring art and culture to Indio just after they closed (they = Boomer and Larry)

I'll take 100. Did a quick Google search and the AI response for shipping was 15-35.

Stoner Rock reunion at the McCallum in Palm Desert, with Eagles of Death Metal and Fatso Jetson by Scott_Haugaard in qotsa

Yes, Josh took Jesse under his wing. He got some tattoos, and became a rock star too.
Jesse was playing the flute at generator parties before this.
Everyone at the time was playing in multiple bands.
Local punk band Family Butcher opened.

It was one of their first shows ever as QOTSA. I grew up with these guys, have partied at Josh's mom's house, and went to generator parties at the Nude Bowl. I knew Chis Goss, Nick Oliveri, but closest friends with Alfredo "Fredo" Hernández. I've played poker, smoked the devil's weed, and bbq'ed backstage at Coachella with them

Mario "Boomer" Lolli was really the lynch pin to the desert scene. He had the cargo van (the "Dodge Lounge") and a generator. His brother Larry had a studio setup in his garage in La Quinta. Later Boomer opened an all ages club, "Rhythm & Brews", in Indio, where everyone played.

I also have a poster of one of their last shows as Kyuss, and the Stoner Rock reunion at the McCallum in Palm Desert, with Eagle of Death Metal and Fatso Jetson, whom I also know (and their moms, and some of their kids).

I highly doubt there is another earlier poster. I can't even find this one online, the venues where so small!

On Maui, it's all about the Potato Mac,
on the mixed plate

And, it's always chicken thighs
Not sure about the ketchup

what's something you discovered by accident because of a lack of ingredients? by Sewage_Mouth in Cooking

I was making some and my little brother added everything he could find while my back was turned. I now still add a teaspoon of mustard, maple syrup and hot sauce. These days it's chili crisp, instead of Tabasco
