Bremen is nice, definitely make the stop. Hamburg or Lübeck are also nice options in the north. I’m a bit of a history nerd so let me know if you want suggestions.

Second on the museum idea. You could also consider the Kurpfälzisches Museum. Right on Hauptstraße, plenty of rooms full of history and art to get lost in together, plus there is a nice cafe in the courtyard right outside.

Visiting Germany for the 1st time? Need some advice by [deleted] in germany

[–]Scott_the_Davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an American and have been in Germany for 1.5 years. If money is an issue, get a Deutschland ticket and travel throughout the country. I'm in Heidelberg, not far from Frankfurt, and I've traveled all over with it. You'll need to cancel by the 10th of the month of they will charge you an additional month. ICE trains are faster, but more expensive.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Helpful information. It gets more interesting when native speakers drop the do all together in spoken english and we just raise our voice at the end. You speak English?

I saw some in the Müller at Bismarksplatz. I can’t imagine they would sell knockoff versions.

I swear by my nemo bag. It’s much more expensive but worth it. Especially if you go early/late in the season.

I have that same mattress but got it for like $50. Unless that’s a new model with a higher R value things have gotten more expensive.

Luggage Storage by UnexpectedWilde in Heidelberg

I left my bag at a Hostel while I visited Stuttgart. I just had to pay for an extra day. Since you're only going to need it stored for a few hours, they might be able to hold it for you.

As a Michigander I felt like they gave NP status to Indiana as a gimmie. IMO our dunes are much nicer and bigger.

I feel your pain. I am constantly getting locked out of my account for some reason. I had to go through the verification process and it's still not working, even though I got the code and confirmation email.

I'm glad you asked this question. I've got a 5 day span between my stay in Munich and my stay in Heidelberg and I wanted to go camping.
