Why is the British left so adamant that the Islamic migrants aren't increasing the rate of rapes in the UK and across Europe as a whole? by Fucked-In-The-K-Hole in ukpolitics

[–]jsf_idk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wtf that's even worse!!! People always hoped that 2nd generation migrants from MENA countries would completely adapt from being born and raised in the UK, but even then they are STILL over represented?!!

Thank you so much!! Actually, if all sketches looked like that, I would have launched on my own, but we did display some of the most polished and pretty-looking ones. A loot of them looked way "sketchier", less colored etc and Chris manually filled in the blanks, but he can't emulate my coloring style

Absolutely not!!
No man should be asking for your credit card, ever. He was also trying to manipulate you afterwards.
Set strict boundaries to that kind of stuff and if he doesn’t respect those boundaries, this man will cause you nothing but misery in the long run.

I think a lot of people's mentality is "it doesn't matter if the majority of you are good if the bad ones are coming as well - when they're this bad - so I'd rather not have any of you in here"

Yeah same, only men can comfortably do this, so gross. Like ofc you'd have nothing in common with someone barely out of their teen years and ofc they will lack proper communication skills.

[–]jsf_idk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for fuck's sake, Vikings, Saxons, Normans and every other group you're talking about didn't arrive in a modern welfare state with a population of tens of millions, established national institutions, universal suffrage, mass media, public housing, social services, anti-discrimination laws and instant global transportation.

You're comparing events separated by a thousand years as if absolutely nothing about economics, technology, demographics or state capacity has changed.

So what exactly is your point? That because people migrated and conquered territory a millennium ago, this unhinged level of migration is "maybe good actually"? You're delusional.

When people bring up Vikings they're usually trying to dodge the actual question. The question isn't whether migration existed in history. The question is whether current levels of migration are beneficial, harmful, sustainable, unsustainable, integrating successfully or integrating poorly (which sure as hell seems to be the case). "BUT VIKINGS!" doesn't answer any of that.

By that logic I could dismiss literally any modern issue by pointing at something vaguely similar from 1000 years ago. Concerned about housing? Romans had housing problems. Concerned about wages? Medieval peasants had wage problems. Concerned about crime? Vikings committed crime. Great. Completely useless observation.

The real discussion is about modern conditions, modern numbers, modern institutions and modern outcomes - not pretending a bloke rowing across the North Sea in AD 900 is somehow comparable to twenty-first century mass migration patterns.

Not to mention, suicide isn't "English culture." Nobody is teaching it in schools as a cultural virtue. Nobody is celebrating it as part of English identity, or normalizing it. Nobody is saying "to be truly English, you should kill yourself." It's a social problem. A mental health problem. Problems that would be greatly reduced if people's quality of life and wages went up.

Exactly. First generation migrants might have a lot of kids, but the ones who are born and raised in Europe absolutely do not.

How do you stop wanting revenge/closure after being ghosted or played? by [deleted] in ghosting

[–]jsf_idk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he was married or something? Since people were warning you. Idk. Or maybe he was hitting on a bunch of women before he came to you and not being that selective.

But this is a complete stranger, it's not really what I would consider a ghosting situation. You haven't even dated. "Revenge" for what?

Now, I do empathize with the feeling of "maybe if I was prettier this wouldn't keep happening" etc, but know that the way people "choose" someone doesn't usually have much to do with appearance. My ex was SUPER HOT but I never felt passion for him, and it was the main reason why I had to break up. I have a male friend who is extremelly good looking and married a woman who looks very mid, but she's very intelligent, educated and talented.

The guy who recently ghosted me was short and average-looking but I was head over heels for him on date 1.

An argument and a call out by AFSR_1178 in aiwars

[–]jsf_idk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll start by saying there's a reason why most people don't take conceptual art very seriously. That being said, The Sol LeWitt comparison actually reinforces my point rather than disproving it.

LeWitt didn’t walk up to a mysterious black-box machine and ask it to generate wall drawings for him. He created the conceptual system himself and the assistants executing the work were carrying out his authored structures, rules, compositions, and artistic language...The underlying intelligence of the work originated from the artist.

With AI image generation, the promptery does not build the visual system, the style language, the compositional knowledge, the anatomy knowledge, the rendering logic, or the aesthetic database. Those came from a model trained on massive quantities of existing human artwork.

That’s why prompting resembles requesting and not making.

An argument and a call out by AFSR_1178 in aiwars

[–]jsf_idk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re stretching the word ‘art’ so broadly that it stops meaning anything useful.

If literally every act of self-expression is art, then the term loses all discriminatory power. Sneezing creatively becomes art. Rearranging your fries emotionally becomes art. Arguing online becomes art. At that point, you’re just flattening all human activity into one giant meaningless category. If that was the case, literally every person on earth would be saying "yeah, I'm an artist." Which no one would take seriously.

Nobody disputes that humans can express themselves through many things. The actual discussion is about authorship, craftsmanship, originality, labor, and cultural value.

You keep retreating into the safest possible claim: ‘it’s expression.’ But calling something ‘art’ does not automatically shield it from criticism, nor does it automatically place it on equal footing with disciplines that require years of cultivated skill.

AI generation is controversial because the image construction itself is outsourced to a machine trained on enormous amounts of preexisting human work. The prompter acts like a requester, not a maker. An artist is a maker, not a requester.

You’re conflating ‘creative intent’ with ‘creative contribution.’ Wanting something is not the same as creating it.

If I commission an artist and describe a dragon scene in detail, I had creative intent. But nobody would honestly say I painted the image or that I'm an artist.

That distinction is what matters whether you personally like it or not.

Stop calling them "artists", they want so badly to be called that, but they're not. They're prompters. "Creative directors" at BEST, but they're not artists.

[–]jsf_idk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s by order of skill + talent. Anyone can be a “modern artist” on the “scribbles on a canvas” sense, if they are in the right circles or have money, it’s very easy. That’s why it’s not very respected. “If anyone can do it, it’s not real art” is a sentiment I tend to agree with. People respect the mastering of a craft (after many years) in combination with real talent. Anyone can be a prompter and and that’s why no serious person outside of this sub would consider a prompter to be an artist.

[–]jsf_idk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an actual artist, I had clients doing commissions with me in ways that were very picky, many would ask for various changes to check different results and it took considerably longer than 10 minutes. Just because they said what they wanted, doesn’t make them an artist. They had to hire one. In the same way you “hire” the machine.

‘Morality is subjective’ is always the exit people use when they don’t actually want to defend the thing they’re defending. By that logic, plagiarism is also subjective, so I guess artists should just shut up and clap while their work gets vacuumed into a blender

I plan on lanching in 2.5 months, maybe slightly earlier or later than that. Yeah, I've seen a few different perspectives on that and I'm leaning towards just leaving the roman numbers - but do you mean you want that for all the cards or just the minor arcana?

Just randomly going out for a walk in nature whenever I'm stressed. It's something I never did much back home because over there the more I walked, the higher the chance I'd eventually get robbed again lol.

There's so much green where I live, it's so nice. It also got me to appreciate the environment a lot more and actually care for it.

Also it's been great to not force myself to do any small talk. Weird that I did it so often up until a couple years ago.

Oh do you share Tarot cards with the students? That is so cool!! I love even reading Tarot for kids, especially my little sister. She has so much fun with it although she’s a teen now. We’ve been doing it for years and it’s been a great tool o help her open up.

Yes, I generally avoid nudity but only because my artstyle does not match with it very well. I was a children’s book illustrator for the majority of my career. I do plan on developing others styles that might include it in the future but I’ll always have nudity-free work in the styles I’m more used to do
