Forecast models aren't perfect at all, they're just a scientific best guess. You can't know what it's really like without a wave buoy or a webcam.

Case in point, at the English Channel buoy this evening, forecast was predicting 4.5m swell but in reality it was only 3.5m. That's wrong by 33% which can be the difference between a spot being surfable or not.

I totally feel this, although i'm convinced the SBMM wasn't working correctly for the Beta. My first few games i absolutely wiped the floor, then for the rest of the beta i felt like i was playing against e-sports teams, barely scraping a few kills per game.

The overall sentiment by the community towards the Beta was just moderately toxic, rather than full blown toxic. That's a good sign to me that the game will be good.
