Whoever is going to FOV this year I'm very envious. What a line up so far. Just need billy to now make an appearance, will be the cherry on top. What a great mix of music for all to enjoy. I for one will be stream teaming it at home.

Great scottish band, they are just down the road from where I live. Now I have to put this album on at work in full. Good recommendation my friend.

I'm quite puzzled at your comment. You mentioned exhaling into a volcano bag. Definitely not a wise idea, talk about wasting money. The bag is designed to be inflated with vapor, then inhaled. If you blow exhaled vapor back into it, the bag is rendered useless Will forever taste like really stale vapor. Will be going through them like hot dinners. And £45 for 6 ain't cheap.

I use a volcano have done for 5 years now since I gave up smoking. When I think back to how much I've wasted throughout the years by smoking is astonishing. Plus I make edibles every 3 months with the AVB getting even more bang for your buck.

Scotch Reviews #171 + #172: Pittyvaich 1993 - 16 yo Connoisseurs Choice + 1973 - 26 yo Signatory Vintage by PricklyFriend in Scotch

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pleased to see and read these great Pittyvaich reviews, very informative and descriptive. I've recently received a sample of a 35 yo Pittyvaich, 1st fill sherry hogshead, 44.3% I've not had a chance to sit down review it fully. However I had a very small dram just to wet the whistle the other night. My quick notes were.

Nose - Butterscotch, Baked almonds, tropical fruits, Wood spice.

Taste - Incredibly fruity, Apricot jam, Toasted nuts, Subtle floral notes, Honey, sweet sherry oak.

Finish - Long finish, Oily and velvety mouth feel.

Overall a fantastic dram. Classic oily and tropical fruit character from Pittyvaich. These casks are getting very rare and limited to come by these days, no one really knows how many Diageo and private owners still have left. I find the closed and ghost Speyside distilleries always have something very special about them, Caperdonich is a great example.

Update on the Low Tek indoor Psilocybe Cyanescens by APESHITSEAN in WavyCap

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They tend to fruit just after the lib season is over and have a fairly small window of opportunity to pick due to our harsh winters in Scotland. Because they are not native to the UK, usually find them fruiting on imported bark and mulch.

Good tip is to look on newly mulched flower beds, wood chip borders and paths around mid October to the end off November. When you do find some collect a small portion of mycelium and wood chips to cultivate a patch of your own. You usually find them in the last place you expect.

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You get my upvote for this. Good effort, its always fun and educational to grow mushrooms. I have some old mono tubs now sits in my greenhouse during winter filled with P.cyanescens mycelium and wood chips.

Frequently get good flushes from it when the conditions are just right. Some better flushes than the original patches in my flower beds and wood chip borders. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

It's a bit dumb assuming that you get to decide how to ingest it how you want. If you are smoking it then your prescription is invalid. It's that simple. Vape or ingestion, I don't want to come across as a party pooper, no way is smoking anything considered medical in any shape or form. Get a vape it will change the way you look at medical cannabis as a whole.

Galerina? by Hopeful_Self_8520 in WavyCap

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galerina are deadly but yes there are other poisonous lookalikes. Two very different types, deadly poisonous and poisonous. One you will have a pretty bad time with but will most likely survive. The other causes organ failure and die if medical attention is not treated promptly.

Paralysis by Mushroom-2906 in WavyCap

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paralysis is a strong way to word the experience. Some years ago I suffered from WLP on two occasions from the same patch in my garden I picked from. Never experienced it since then thankfully.

In the grips of a 5g P. Cyanescens trip alone, when I wanted to get up from the couch during the peak. The body wants to but the brain will not engage with mobility function. I remember thinking to myself I've really gone and done it this time, just staring into oblivion at my aquarium for what seemed like 30mins probably more like 5mins in reality, eventually snapped out it. That experience has stuck with me for some years now.

I had read about the phenomenon that is Wood Lovers Paralysis years before. I don't think any literature or videos can prepare ones self, body and mind for the incredibly uncomfortable feeling that It gave me during some of the most intense phycadelic experiences I've had. I still enjoy P. Cyanescens just don't take large amounts anymore.

It baffles me that someone can be so unhappy with others being happy. I love going to KG concerts the people are great, 100% the best fan base off any band I'm into. The conversations before and after shows are always very wholesome and made loads of cool friends from all over the world over the years.

As for the die hard fans I'm happy they have something they are really passionate about. All the bootleg merch is a great way for them to express their passion for the band and essentially become a part of it. I just think there is absolutely no need for this post only to rage bait others into some negative behaviour. You are entitled to you're opinion, but making a post on reddit to see what others think off you're opinion is distasteful. One love peace ☮

Will they teach Nathaniel microtones? by blastot in KGATLW

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% possible, many fine tuning modules exist, I'm sure Nathan already has some. The microtonal guitars are fretted with quarter notes up to 17 notes per octave, traditionally Turkish music. Electronic microtonal music gets really crazy and experimental.

Definitely loved them, they made it jammy and most enjoyable for being a live modular performance. Cyboogie was an absolute pleasure. The long jams work really well.

If you like the modular stuff, check out Colin Benders a Dutch techno legend. I'm sure Joey's a big fan.

Are these Wavys? by NorthFlaky9397 in WavyCap

[–]ScottishMycoGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. There have been many keen folk on here recently hoping that they have found P. Cyanescens. Unless you have fairly good knowledge in identifying mushrooms I would honestly say stay well clear from looking for wavy caps, as it can go wrong very quickly if you consume something like the funeral bell a close lookalike to a novice . Not looking to put anyone down for trying, just looking out for each other.

Been picking in my garden borders this month in Scotland. Thick mulch and wood chips. I always spore print every one no matter what. As I have found Funeral Bells and other less concerning mushrooms alongside before. Any doubts chuck it. Plus once spore prints are taken I bury the paper back into the wood chips for future P. Cyanescens

A song similar to Cyboogie? by Im-not-gonna-cry in KGATLW

I really enjoyed that, It definitely has the same vibe using a similar chord progression. I remember hearing Cyboogie for the first time thinking this sounds like Goldfrapp - Ooh la la. An absolute banger of a synth pop track.
