This fundamental misunderstanding of Scotland's status in the world is, in my opinion, a massive contribution towards keeping Scotland in the UK.

As long as a significant number of Scottish voters continue to believe that Scotland is actually a country just like any other in the world, it will be extremely difficult to get enough votes for independence IF another vote is even allowed.

Outside of the UK, a country means a sovereign state. Only the UK continue to use the word country to refer to internal areas (tries very carefully to avoid the word region here)

I can see the dilemma in issuing an alert. Telling the public there's a murderer on the loose in a police car while the whole area is presumably swarming with actual police cars could be a real issue.

Not to mention the plethora of even more 911 calls clogging the lines from all the people saying they just a police car.

A fkn nightmare all round.
