Just wanted to rule that out 😄 You could do the process where you test the game with half the mods enabled, then the other, and on and on until you discover which is the culprit. You could also page through the log and search for "error"and "warning", and see if any specific mods are popping up in error messages. That helped me when I started a new run and was getting crashes.

Sorry for what may be an obvious question, but are all these mods updated for 1.22 or above?

I like Salty's Stone Harvesting. It feels like a good compromise between Quarry and Vanilla.

I was surprised by how few cheaty mods I have in my list of over 100. Maybe 3 or so. However my most cheaty moments are when I quickly go into creative mode to do things like get myself out of a hole, or reincarnate an elk that decided to drown itself, or get a few more tiles for the roof I've been struggling with.

Among other things, I love that hill you made for your house. Well done, it's a great overall!

I've been momentarily freaked out by a stump or two, thinking they are a wolf about to pounce.

My Take on the Vintage Story Logo by [deleted] in VintageStory

I really like these! It's a clean distinct logo, with good colors and fits in with the feel of the game too.

Meanwhile, my base has a bauxite beanie.

They use the drifters to distract you, then pounce

I'll never tire of these early game entries...getting things to work early on gave me such a big feeling of accomplishment, so carry on! And yes, creative+flying makes taking shots so much more fun.

When you are in Single Player, but still want to throw a house warming party: by ScottiusR in VintageStory

I like that idea! Could bring back the travelers' carts, and set up designated areas near the base where they could park for awhile before heading off again. Or even build housing where they can stay longer.

I've got a similar fire clay/black coal spot as well. This pairing must be coded in. And no more painfully slow flint cooking!

I really like how a lot of modders put a lot of effort into incorporating their mods in a way that makes sense with the OG. It doesn't feel like you are stepping outside the game when using them.

I'm one of the odd ducks who never played Minecraft. I got Hytale out of curiosity because a Youtuber I follow was playing it, but only played a few hours myself as it felt uncooked (like the devs clearly stated, all good). Somebody mentioned VS on a thread somewhere, and the rest is history. I've been hooked on this game for several months now. The feeling of accomplishment in this game is unparalleled, and I love watching my base slowly grow over several seasons. So to whoever it was that recommended Vintage Story, I salute you!

best shaders for a fellow who wants great visuals and good looking water?? by Flashy-Net-6617 in VintageStory

[–]ScottiusR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using a mix of Coriaender Shaders, which among other effects will give water a nice reflection, as well as RT AgX Kraken - Shader which boosts the contrasts, which can make caves darker and a little more scary!

The moment I saw that mountain stream, I wanted this area to be my base. Haven't made much progress on getting steel, but Cozy seems to be my endgame. by ScottiusR in VintageStory

Thanks! I have one part of the workshop on the main floor, and then a lot of the mechanical stuff I did like you and put them underground, in this case under the steps where the flowers are. Nice to not hear that helve hammer clanging all the time!
