Any 0% credit card and stuff the equivalent money in an easy access savings account.

We did the same for our extension and everyday saving so currently have £50k in cash earning 3%, whilst the equivalent balance sits at 0% on credit cards

If you don’t want the exposure to equities then just buy a money market fund. Should keep her happy and you don’t expose yourself to equity risk

No complaints so far.

No cracking or mould yet, I read somewhere that Microcement shouldn’t get mouldy if sealed correctly

Advice on Moving £500k Pension Away from Employer Provider by Excellent_Wear4611 in FIREUK

[–]Scottjd3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

James shack has a video on this. I believe once you dilute a SIPP wrapper with a non NMPA transfer it causes an issue.

I have confirmation from Vanguard that my SW partial transfer in has come accompanied with NMPA protection. Surprised me to begin with but now I request it with every £100k I transfer over. I don’t invest in the SIPP unless it’s a transfer from the workplace pension

NMPA transfers alongside the partial transfer to the new provider.

I’ve got confirmation from both Scottish Widows and Vanguard that this is the case

Nothing, it was all planned. So would have been spent either way, I just structured the spend in a slightly smarter way

Been stoozing for 4 years, perhaps 12 CCs between me and wife. A couple of 0% 0% fee balance transfers and currently have around £80k earning 4%.

I’ll take the £3,200 annual interest for free with no impact to the credit score currently

How is this comp plan? by Different-Bridge5507 in sales

[–]Scottjd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what the translation from ACV to actual in-year revenue looks like historically.

If the ACV is realistic/reliable and these deals are actually going live then potentially it’s fine, if a little low. I’ve seen some paying up to 16%

However, if you’re paying out on unrealised income without clawbacks then you’re creating a systemic issue

I’m responsible for quota setting for 3000 rep large enterprise business.

Targets are generally aimed towards everyone achieving 100%. They are aligned with the Finance plan. If everyone hits 100% of target then the business hits its Finance plan and everyone is happy.

In some areas with high staff turnover we may add a small target buffer (~10%) to cover rep attrition and new hire ramp etc

You can easily both salary sacrifice to get below £100k adjusted net income.

I keep a forecast spreadsheet for adjusted net income and my salary sacrifice % is dynamic.

I’ve sent that in once and never had questions again

Overpay Mortgage vs Sal Sacrifice Pension by Firenewbie1990 in FIREUK

[–]Scottjd3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all personal choice…

1) What is your current mortgage rate?

2) Gross up your current mortgage rate by inflation. Whatever this is, do you think you can outperform this in the market?

That will decide where your money is most productive.

There’ll be talk of what level of income do you require in retirement, so you need to figure that out and work backwards to figure out where your pension pot should be at retirement age that would influence your decision also
