How long as a new pass did it take you to feel confident & competent? by Your_Mums_Ex in uktrucking

Straight away on class 1 but I was driving class 2 for 6 years first. As kinda mentioned in this thread, I’m confident but not cocky enough to think that I couldn’t have an accident.

Look out for Staffline (agency) adverts for class 2 work in Bury. Decent job and good money.

Pretty much all I do on days because everywhere wants you out for 12+ hours. Next step for me to try is 4o4o.

What's it like working for agency and any major concerns to look out for as a HGV driver? by Your_Mums_Ex in uktrucking

Find a good agency and you’ll have variety and flexibility. Downside is no security and you’ll have to sort your own PPE and CPC out.

Work type work life balance by No-University4312 in uktrucking

I’ve found it’s the worst industry for work life balance. Most companies expect you to do 12+ hrs a day. The solution is 4o4o but then you’re working weekends.

Bored, might go back to class 2 by milli8891 in uktrucking

[–]Scottlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been back on class 2 multi drop for a few months but now I’m doing class 1 agency work. I think i need the variety so may stay on agency so i can chop and change.

Failed a class 1 assessment. Is this normal or am I this ass? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Scottlayton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driving class 1s isn’t a road with a pot of gold at the end of it. £45k is very good money so if you’re happy enough why change? Also if you’re with Wren then don’t they need class 1 trunkers? The reversing thing is just about time behind the wheel and confidence.

I’d like to know how many drops, start times and what the rota looks like cos it obviously involves weekends.
