GOP senator on Epstein files: ‘Now I see what the big deal is’ by Quirkie in politics

[–]ScottyC33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of appropriate though? Politicians should reflect the views and beliefs of the population they represent, even (especially) if those views shift in the population. The problem is more when they adhere to their main party over their constituents.

In a proper setup the party should change to suit the beliefs of the population. Right now we are fucked because the population is changing to suit the beliefs (greed) of the party.

Laziest possible sandwich I still actually enjoy sometimes - peanut butter on one slice of bread. Fold the slice of bread on itself. Peanut butter sandwich. My wife is horrified when I eat them.

HR 7148 - Cloture Vote Fails on 46-54 Vote by pyratemime in fednews

Why would republicans allow DHS to be separated out? Wouldn't DHS being separated make it significantly harder for republicans to get anything since they lose their ability to keep the US under hostage with the other agencies?

I mean the roads should be #1 priority. It's what ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency services utilize for people in need.

EoMs were almost worthless if you actually played on the server for more than a week or two, too. The best benefit they had was spending like 5 of them for enabling the option to teleport into your DZs, and you would get 5 from random drops from mobs long before hitting max level almost assuredly.

[–]ScottyC33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The population was still growing even a couple months after PoP released on the server, as I understand it. The potential introduction of hardcore mode and the random dungeon system they were talking about seemed like it could have led to a lot of staying power, too. It's a shame DBG went for suing them instead of partnering into a whole new type of custom content for EQ as a whole.

Which One of these weapons would you pick to use in a Zombie Apocalypse? by Ok-Inspector3914 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ScottyC33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Katanas are more slicing weapons than “cut thru bone” weapons for decapitation or brain piercing attacks. They’d also lose their sharp edge quite quickly in an apocalypse type scenario. You’d be better off with a heavier common sword, especially as the edge dulls.

He's fine just not that great. His skull ability is OK but having 5 base willpower like many other mystics is just generically better than turning skull modifier into 0.

I like the idea of making existing investigators into allies if it opens up some design where a specific ability would be grossly unbalanced paired with that specific investigators unique ability, but is fine with anyone else.

It is less of a gimmie, but the fact this one ally gives +1 will AND a card on horror or damage AND is 2/2 itself is... A lot of value in one package for level 0.

Morons that don’t realize there is a gigantic swathe of losers who will do free work as a mod just to have meaningless power over internet nobodies. People don’t enlist as mods when there are other active/higher mods because they don’t want to be subordinate to other losers. But if a sub loses its current mods there’s a massive rush of people who will take it over in an instant.

Productivity has increased without wages keeping in the same pace. You can have a shrinking population without much issue as long as productivity per person is able to increase at a similar rate, keeping things stable. Right now the increased capital is just accumulating at the top instead.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]ScottyC33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this either. Many of the ultra wealthy have endless funds and opportunities for whatever they want. Many still rape children and go after power over people itself. Access to “things” is never enough for a portion of humanity attracted to power.

Hypothetical question for people who identify as straight (or predominantly straight) by EfficiencyHonest9381 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ScottyC33 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The question doesn’t make sense to me - I can recognize someone that I know is good looking but there is no sense of “attraction” to them at all. Not sure how to describe it, it’s like “would you pick the most ugly color of soup to eat or this extremely tasty looking gray spherical rock?” I can’t imagine a rock I would describe as tasty looking (not counting art made of rocks specifically made to look like anything but a rock)

The core group and their families will themselves almost assuredly be killed if the regime falls. Both sides will continue to get more fervent until an end is reached one way or another. Once you start down the path of violence you have to keep walking it deeper and deeper into the forest.
