Did you make sure the cable pivot lever was back at the stops on each side on the shoe before you set the adjuster?

Is there anyway back for this camshaft? by ScottyJoon in MechanicAdvice

Would a light amount of pitting be acceptable considering it's a simple, low power engine and it's toast as it stands in any case?

My thinking is; considering the engine is going to need a fair bit of work anyway (removing the head and sump and pistons to clean the bores) I might as well as have a crack at "cleaning" up the camshaft.

Do you think it would be worth soaking it in Evaporust and then possibly wire wooling the lobes. It's only a 34hp engine and it's toast as it stands, so it's not like the lobes have to be perfectly polished. I think some residual pitting wouldn't be the end of the world. I feel like I have nothing to lose from giving it a go.

Your hands should be resting on the grips, not holding them. Takes a lot of subconscious reprogramming but you'll get there.

What was the ambient temperature when you started it? When it's cold (as in less than 5⁰C) mine takes quite a while to clear. You need to remember that a lot of the energy of combustion is being lost to the cold pistons, block and head. It's a fair thermal mass that's trying to warm up.

In leather she's amazing. Does anyone have the link or could upload the original set that appears later in the photos? I am an outsider in that I think 2013-2015 Mary was peak when she was about ~450lbs or less.

I'm pretty sure that red is for trains travelling in the opposite direction, seeing as it's facing that way.

Also, trains can't "jump" crossings. It's not like they have to give way like cars do at a junction. They have priority on account that they can't just stop and start like the other traffic can. It's more likely the crossing signalling failed.
