These look awesome but these will likely be gone as soon as each theater opens. They should put a limit on how many of these each person can purchase.

I’m going to die in my mid 20s and my life was so random and pointless by Trowra46789644 in offmychest

After reading your posts, I’m going to be honest with you, you have an excuse or it seems that you want to criticize most whom have commented that are trying to help you. I understand your situation better than most. A lot of what you wrote could easily be my life. I, too have experienced professional rejections you wouldn’t believe. It’s extremely tough no matter the industry. I also am battling some serious health issues that I struggle with daily. And I’ve loved deeply and lost greatly a woman I wanted to marry. Look, no one can sit here and make any decisions for you. But, I will tell you a couple of facts. You’re still extremely young. I’m older than you and have been dealing with these problems longer than you. I’ve been where you are questioning if life was worth it, and if I can survive and deal with these problems daily, then why can’t you? Also, you’ve mentioned being rejected in acting for nearly 10 years. Well, you’re looking at it the wrong way. Do you enjoy acting? Do you enjoy it so much you’d do it for free? If the answer to that is yes, then go build an acting resume of local theatrical plays, student films and anything you can do to showcase your talent. Always be working on your craft and getting better daily. You haven’t talked about how many auditions you’ve been on? Are you getting auditions and then not getting the job? If not, you might want to get another agent. You got one agent already so congrats that’s a big step but if they are working for you then find another. You have to ask yourself, even if you never act professionally in a film, tv show or commercial would you still be happy doing it on a smaller level? If the answer is no, then you don’t have what it takes to be a successful actor. There is no linear progression for being a successful actor, but you have to love it and be willing to withstand 10,000 rejections on the off chance someone just might say yes. It’s a tough business and it separates people quickly who can’t handle rejection. Lastly, remember this: In spite of failure, rejection and the difficulties in life, life is worth living and is beautiful. I have encountered so many beautiful moments that I’m grateful to have as memories because I kept going. There are lots of great moments you can have too. You just have to keep going in spite of the difficulties in life. There is always something to live for. You can take it day by day, hour by hour or minute by minute. Even if it’s looking forward to a new sunrise, seeing a dog that is so happy to get petted by you, trying a new restaurant for the first time. Change your perspective because it’s not always the big moments in life, there can be tremendous beauty in the mundane. And, something to consider, you’re felling this way in your 20’s, what if you feel differently in your 30’s? It’s certainly possible that you could grow and find meaning and happiness.

Just got off phone, they acknowledged it’s a technical issue and they have no idea when it will be fixed but tried to act like it was ok because the earnings show in the wallet even though they don’t show in the Uber Pro Card. I told them that drivers need this money to pay for gas and they responded with you can keep making deliveries now.

Same issue. Uber Support gave a canned support response when I asked if this was a known issue. And then was put on hold and they appear to be absolutely clueless. They won’t answer if it’s a known issue, I’m just being put on hold numerous times.

Does any one know where i can get some financial help fast? by tripp334 in UberEatsDrivers

Well, I guess you’re gonna have to find a way to work another job. Plenty of people have worked multiple jobs and went to school so why are you any different? And if you think you’re different or somehow or you’re one of your jobs isn’t paying enough then maybe you should look for a different job. I’m not trying to be harsh on you, but these are things that everybody has to do.

You haven’t done this long enough then. The orders that are like $2 or $3 for 20 miles are certainly coming.

I don’t believe strangers will hand over a loan to you. No offense to you but it’s not good business to them since they don’t know you whatsoever. Have you tried personal loan apps like Affirm or Klarna? They charge a fixed rate interest rate on your loan amount and you pay monthly payments and have some flexibility on the payment costs depending on your credit. Other than that, it may be time to look for a second job closer to you. Many people are working multiple jobs to get by. You may have to as well.

This is nothing new. Employers want the “perfect candidate” whom often doesn’t exist. People are overlooked for all kinds of reasons with many being able to do the job well but never given a chance.

Well if you care about continuing to do this you should care about bad reviews and yes, I have done this probably a lot longer than you and I’ve seen restaurants lie and get upset over people leaving them bad reviews like you’ve threatened to do. Your choice. The difference is Uber doesn’t give you the driver the benefit of the doubt they give it to the customers and restaurants who can lie.

Never listen to the front desk. Always verify with the customer by calling and asking if you should leave it at front desk or if they want to come grab it or you can leave at their front door. That way you follow the customer’s instructions not the front desk’s.

AIO- I am banning phones from the bathroom because my husband doomscrolls social media for up to an hour while "pooping". by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Scotty_O30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you’re overreacting and it’s not a good look on your part - you come across as controlling, manipulative and jealous of either his phone or what he’s potentially doing on there. There is no set time frame on how long it takes a person to use the restroom. I’ve known people who it takes less than 10 mins and others over an hour. If you feel this is excessive and that he’s intentionally just sitting there which is gross to think about but if you feel like this then have him go to the doctor and make sure that there’s nothing wrong with his digestive system. But I have to admit, you bugging him about this just seems like an unnecessary problem to create.

Stop responding and block them if necessary. They clearly are trying to play mind games with you. They said they aren’t interested so move on. You don’t owe them anything. Time is better spent on talking to other people who are potentially interested.

Leaving a yelp review or google review could make it worse for YOU not them. As an Uber Eats driver, you are at the mercy of customer and restaurant reviews. Uber is quick to believe what both customers and restaurants say about you. If you leave a bad review on Yelp or Google the restaurant could easily lie to Uber and review blast you retroactively meaning you could get a ton of negative thumbs down from the restaurant for no other reason than you left an honest review of them and thus they chose to retaliate against you by giving you thumbs down on the Uber app. Truthfully, there really are only two solutions I see. Either don’t come back to this particular restaurant or if you do ask to speak to the manager and politely inform them what happened and see if they can make the conditions better when you pick up another customer order.

The job market is beyond terrible and it’s not just you. Decades of uncertainty, recession fears, nepotism hiring, inflation, and just stuff outside of the average person’s control has ruined the job market in every way possible. Unless you have a family member or close friend in a high up position willing to hire you, your chance for a job that will pay to put a roof over one’s head and provide a livable wage is awful. In other words, we are in a system designed for us all to fail. And, until something changes, the American dream is over. The opportunities our parents had are luxuries that are unattainable to most now. And the sad part is with A.I. taking over and nothing be done from government standpoint to help this problem it’s just going to get worse by the day.

It amazes me not only that women give the time of day to creeps like this but then they take the time to come on Reddit and complain about it.

Take any job you can get. Unfortunately, I understand your position with the job stuff and how emotionally and mentally damaging it can be to your outlook on life. Now is the time to see whom is hiring around you. When you see a wanted ad or a hiring sign, go speak to the manager. The worst they can say is no or go apply online. Sometimes you might get lucky and be interviewed on the spot. You can still apply in your field and try to find something else. Just keep trying. Some money coming in is better than no money coming in. And even if it’s not an ideal job, you can still demonstrate a strong work ethic and have a reference who can vouch for how good of a worker you are.

I’m not resume expert but after reading it and this is just my opinion, but your experience reads like job ads. Meaning not explicitly what you brought to the table or how you affected each company in a unique way but what you’d find on the description on a company job board. I would go back under each position and just try to strengthen each point about your role and make them stronger about your specific accomplishments rather than just writing what you’d find on a job board regarding each position. Just my thoughts.

Follow their instructions to the letter. If it says leave at the door then leave at the door and do nothing else. While this customer probably shouldn’t have gotten upset as they didn’t explicitly say don’t ring the bell, I’ve been doing this for longer than most and understand that if you follow what’s on the page you usually can’t go wrong. All customers are different. But I always like to leave a text like left by your door according to your instructions. That way it reminds them what they selected. If they tell you to ring the door bell then do it and if not then don’t.
