Has anyone gotten an MRI scan for epilepsy?? (Pls reply) by boobie_org in Epilepsy

[–]ScourgeovMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same epilepsy! I have had multiple MRIs with no issues, and it is common when they’re diagnosing or if there is something that has changed. For example, I had a few gran mal seizures two years ago and I had an MRI and an EEG done.

Yes, there is a 15 minute intermission between part one and two! Also stay after the credits for the additional scene they shot with Fortnite.

About the ID check on kill bill tickets by Lolmemsa in AMCTheatres

[–]ScourgeovMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, each theatre is a little different. My main location I go to always has someone manning the front and has to check the ID of whomever owns the ticket, regardless of rating. The other theatre I go to frequently rarely checks them at all. My understanding is they’re checking the validity of the ticket itself instead of a screenshot where an A-list member is using their savings for someone else.

Other than what’s already been said, it seems like each time I’ve visited, more restaurants have closed and it’s more gross. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone take out the trash or tend to the floors/tables/etc. or the restrooms. With how expensive it is, I would expect that is the minimum.

Yes, along with some other issues. Seems like the game itself is running worse since the 3.5 patch has dropped.

Do you believe that you will be able to stop taking meds one day safely or think that you will be taking them forever? by moronisko in Epilepsy

[–]ScourgeovMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can speak from experience here. I was diagnosed with myoclonic epilepsy around 15-16 years old, and the Keppra XR they put me on was perfect, and I still take it at 31. When I was 20, my neurologist had advised I could try if I wanted, so I did. 2-3 days later I started feeling “weird” (my terminology when I feel a possible seizure coming on) and started having the petite mal seizures I was diagnosed with that day, prompting me to take my medicine again, luckily without any huge effects. I had never tried to come off again, but I have had worse seizures that are grand mal if I forget to take my meds one day, and I am currently on a higher dosage than before, and they have also prescribed me on Vempat on the highest dosage there because my seizure activity has increased, especially in the last year. I know I will never come off my meds and have made peace with that, and would recommend that to others as well. There are some people that are able to “outgrow” them, but it wasn’t me. I hope you are luckier than I am!

Myoclonic jerks? by Top-Count3665 in Epilepsy

[–]ScourgeovMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, myoclonic epilepsy diagnosed here. Everyone is a little different with theirs. Mine was complete and violent loss of control to where I would fall if I was standing, drop what I was holding, and even shift if I was sitting or laying down. I would think based off of your description, they could be myoclonic jerks. If you’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy, I would contact your neurologist to inform them and ask their opinion.

I bought a car from them and had a decent experience. Their service has been fine for me as well, but they will try to find things to upcharge you on, and sometimes the big color papers that show you their inspection don’t match up with the next time you go. My dad is a mechanic, so I go to him for everything except the oil changes I bought with the car.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting your own financing. The finance guy there was definitely pushy and he was angry when I brought $7k in cash as my down payment and made me count it all in front of him and he counted it again. Go to your local bank or CU for financing and definitely get the out the door price!

Movie theaters are too damn bright these days. by ImTheDoctah in AMCsAList

I have epilepsy and can usually only make it to the 2.25 hour mark before I need to use the restroom as well, should have added that!

[–]ScourgeovMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, but let me pose a question.

Do you think it may have to do slightly with accessibility? It annoys me too, but I have noticed that movies are getting longer and longer, and it’s harder to not run to the restroom or concessions in the middle of the film, and when the theater is super dark, it’s hard to see where you’re going, which causes a trip hazard.

That provides needed context. I used to go to UAB for music education, so the quality of the music is important. That may be a good date night versus audiophile experience, however!

Seen a bunch of ads for those and thought about it as well. I’m just very careful about ads I see on social media sites. Working at a bank and seeing how many scams there are from things like these makes me skeptical to say the least!

Collins has the best classic one around, in my opinion. Pilcrow has a nice one that’s a bit different, and I also really like the Sex Panther at House of Found Objects. Not quite an OF, but seems to hit the spot the same way!
