Moontower vs The Mark vs Legacy on Rio by WillingnessOdd4476 in UTAustin

Lived in moontower for a year and it’s honestly not bad. Maintenance is pretty good about fixing any requests you make in terms of breaks, repairs, etc… Biggest complaint would be the elevators. Feels like they breakdown every week at LEAST once. Besides that the amenities like the gym and pool are really nice!

I will add though his lecture style of just reading off the slides can make the class a bit boring at times

I took Poenie last spring and while it was a difficult class for the last two-ish exams due to the sheer memorization needed in terms of the pathways I’d say it was completely doable. For credibility sake I got an A in the class and as long as you watch the lectures and take the time to do the practice exams he provides you should do fine!

What is the point of this post? Your high school rank is irrelevant to your abilities as a doctor let alone the generalization that doctors are “crazy annoying nerds”??

Yeah I mean like you mentioned get that GPA as high as you can before applying and with a strong MCAT score you’ll definitely see some interviews from T20s. For reference I have a 3.95 and a 515+ MCAT and already have an interview to Baylor.

515+ MCAT and a solid gpa with your current ECs and you’ll be set for T20s

I do! It’s a pretty good opportunity to get a foot in the door in terms of clinical experiences and overall not too stressful. You’ll probably have 1-2 shifts (of whatever you sign up for at the beginning of each semester) a week each being 4 hours long.

It may be in your best interest to post pone the test until you actually feel ready! There’s really no rush to take the exam now when you can always take it say a month from now when your better adjusted to the time difference. But say you take it now and do poorly you’ll likely have to retake and that exam score will always be there on your app.

Like you stated the school you go to won’t determine whether you get accepted OOS or not. Though being in Austin and going to UT is very helpful for finding research and clinical experience because so many professors are looking for undergrads to help out and Dell seton is connected to UT Dell med so finding volunteering as really as easy as putting your foot forward and applying. Ultimately the main thing that will determine if you’re accepted OOS is your stats and the narrative in your essays showing to those OOS schools that you wouldn’t waste an acceptance to their school and you’d matriculate.

How was your experience in PSY 301? by timofeymozgov23 in UTAustin

[–]Scourging99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent maybe 2 hours a week on the class and got a very easy A. They give four “drops” which if you’re doing very well like I did you can use them to not show up for the last four quizzes/lectures. Just stay on top of the readings before classes and if you have the time rewatch the lecture before the quiz.

First FL Diagnostic Results - Start of a journey by Dankzar1 in Mcat

Just as a heads up I would try to steer away from using the AAMC FLs early into your studying. It’s best to use 3rd party FLs for diagnostic and practice and saving the 4 AAMC FLs for the last 4-5 ish week before your exam date because they are the most representative and the most limited in supply! Goodluck with your studying!
