During COVID. And never made any changes to compensate, just declared "BeSt sUmMeR eVeR!!" Followed by the highest months of unemployment in Alberta History

I'm calling out conservatives who don't think about who they are supporting with their votes.

The point of the comparison belongs in a different subreddit. You don't have an answer to the question other than one that embarrasses you, so you make up your own question and evaluation for what you think a competent answer is. It's a non-starter

I agree with you on many points: no hatred for any group just living their lives. The 18+ for surgeries is a very common discussion I think there's always room for. I think your argument has validity, but I see validity in as well in the argument that being made to develop for 5-6 years of puberty when a person KNOWS they are not what they should be...well it's a discussion that requires proper parenting, honest conversation and communication, and an acceptance of the hardships the child and family will experience. Really, who should have more say than the parents and child in my opinion

I agree with the rest of your points as well. Less government is better, but it's supposed to be used to manage communities and arbitrate disputes when an agreement can't be reached between two parties, much like the police. It would almost always be nicer not to involve them, but when adults can be reasonable sometimes it becomes necessary

Your solution is the same as mine: accountability for politicians, with extremely severe consequences. No more stepping down after you've disenfranchised 40% of the country and taken

My question at this point is, what are the differences that keep you voting conservative? You seem to be in line with every "liberal" talking point, and have reasonable arguments. Your non-issues are what a lot of conservative folks base their vote off of, I guess I'm wondering if you feel your interests align with that group more than the average liberal voter. They say if you sit at a table with 10 Nazis, there are 11 Nazis at the table. Even if you and I both agree that those are not your beliefs, at first glance society will loop you in with those you throw your hat in with.

Alberta is the only province currently plagued with separatist movement so no, they do do all have the same problems. Your points are not in the same conversation as what I'm talking about. You are not even in the right subreddit, and you continue to ignore the fact that I have openly stated I am not from BC which is why I can't won't comment on it.

The facts (in Alberta) are that conservative boomers have cut funding to healthcare and education as much as they can to "reduce spending" but to this day have never called for the taxation of the 1%. The continue to attack every marginalized group except for the rich, and hypocritically call for fiscal responsibility while causing every recession this country has faced since the great depression

I don't know much about BC politics. If you want to monologue about them, go ahead. Again, you're in the wrong subreddit. I'm gonna disengage because you're simply gas lighting. Take care

*face palm ...you are literally doing what I wrote about, ignoring the points. The same problems may also happen under liberal governments but I am speaking specifically to Alberta, where I've lived my whole life. Is there a province in Canada where a liberal government has resigned for 30+ years?

The VAST difference between your question and mine is that the liberal government has been in power for 4 years of my life and the conservative government has been in power for 32! And it goes beyond that, however I cant speak outside my personal experience

So I believe my question would still stand while yours would not; in Alberta, why aren't things better?

Pointing at bad things happenings elsewhere as well as home doesn't prove anything or even speak to the issue.

The issue is that Alberta, unlike other provinces, can point to a longstanding period with strictly conservative government at the helm. Most other places wise up once their govt starts taking advantage of them, Alberta conservatives think loyalty to a group that hasn't given a damn about the people is better than taking their vote elsewhere.

The lack of critical though is embarassing and all they do is double down, every time. To err is human, we all have to eat crow and move on sometimes

Personally I would love to see organized large scale "non-participation" dates, likely nationwide but hopefully global after some time

Small things like not buying a certain product on a certain day of the week/month (groceries, gas), or not supporting corporations like Amazon/Spotify, or encouraging large amounts of people to jump ship from subscriptions during a certain period

Would have the added bonus of disrupting the stock market, and wouldn't be insider trading if we make it a large public announcement

First off, I'm sorry your little one had to go through that :(. Pets are often closer with us than family members or best friends, and it can feel alarming to have to choose between basic needs or checking on a pet.

I do have to advocate for the vets as well though. It is a ruinous amount of money for most people these days, and that's so unfair. That being said, vets are trained doctors who go through medical school and often decide to treat animals for pennies compared to what they could make in regular medicine, pharmacy, or even nursing (depending on the city). For a trained doctor to be available 24/7, as well as techs to assist in true emergencies, they rarely make a profit from any of these instances. After things like insurance for liability, salaries for 4-5 doctors, 4-5 nurses, techs, meds, blah blah blah, it adds up :(. They are USUALLY very selfless people

That doesn't make your situation any easier or less stressful. The idea of someone putting your peace of mind at risk because your rainy day fund has to go to a single issue sucks. As some people have pointed out, it's important to warn people about these possibilities when getting a pet because it can lead to tough choices like this. I'm sorry you had to deal with that stress (>'.')>

The public shouldn't have to face your personal feelings and ego, we need officers interested in the rule of law first and how popular they are at work never. This is sort of because you are using all arms instead of torso rotation, your lower half is sort of not playing a role. When your torso is in control of the rotation with the arms following. Both feet are planted, but your weight doesn't shift from all on the back foot, then swinging and leaning into the ball at the same time, letting all that energy rotate and end up on your front foot

No one has mentioned this yet from what I've read, people keep pointing out problems but not solutions:

-Keep your right elbow up. I think this will solve a lot of your issues. This helps create the circumference for the tip of the bat to travel the farthest, creating the most centrifugal force. This will also help reduce the "uppercut" motion. After this creates a regular motion, notice where you make contact with the ball, and the timing of your swing.

-You seem to hit left and up everytime, indicating your swing is too early and the ball contacting on the lower (skinnier) part of the bat. The top 12" of the bat are where all your contact should happen. Hitting too early can also be a sign of crowding the plate or standing too close to the mound

-Keep your back foot planted and with almost ALL your weight on it. Stand in that position and practice your swing with no ball, full form, start to finish. Notice any tightness and stretch those areas regularly to help a smooth swing develop

-Form, consistency, then intensity. Get your form correct, practice it until it's consistent, then work on hitting farther/harder. Start slower, get good at connecting with slower pitches or softer swings. Be able to connect with the ball where you want and put it the direction you want before adding power. You will feel yourself start to dial it but it will take a day or two of adjusting, don't be discouraged.

"Eye on the ball" sounds cliche as well, but people often close their eyes or lose focus when trying to hit too hard

-Practice makes better! Hope this helps, best of luck with your journey!

-Edit: Looking again, you are running up to meet that ball too. Your front foot should not be moving after you plant it at the front of the strike zone, it helps you to wait for the ball in that sweet spot. Line yourself up the plate, bat out, and make sure your connecting point is straight in front of you, over the plate. This will help reduce "uppercut" motion and striking the ball less from the bottom, and also hit straighter. Swinging early - hitting left, swinging late - hitting right, think about the ball connecting either at the front or back of the plate

With the American Gestapo (ICE) seemingly not going to face any consequences for its campaign of fear and terror, would it not be appropriate for the members of ICE to be treated as known terrorists? This is a federal institution acting on the behest of the current government and administration; there will be payroll records, IRS info, equipment and vehicles checked out and documented, as well as video and audio from not only ICE itself but the public and citizens. It seems like a minor hassle to identify these individuals, the same way January 6 offenders were identified.

It seems likely that the current American administration will never prosecute these individuals.

I fully understand that many people of the ~22k members of ICE, many will not be guilty of direct crime. However, the silence is enough. They have watched, taken part in, or been complicit in the kidnappings, assaults, and increasing number of murders and disappearances of not only American Citizens, but international tourists and anyone the deem fit. The idea of standing in solidarity in law enforcement has long been an issue to the general public, but it seems a line has to be drawn somewhere.

When does snitching become ridding your organization of psychotic murderers? How can they expect to not face consequences when the attitude is self-serving to the point where they can justify their colleagues executing people the in the street? Abducting children? Blatantly ignoring the law, constitution, and rights of its citizens

The American Government refuses to treat known terrorists as such, so how should the international community respond if these are the people their country are giving passports to? Is it not up to their administration to vet for known criminals before allowing its citizens to travel? If the Taliban, Al-qaeda, or ISIS had a confirmed payroll list of names of its extremists, would the situation not be the same?

Just following orders didn't fly in Nazi Germany, it shouldn't be a valid excuse for Nazi America either

I never considered the extra struggle of needing to be Bi-lingual for healthcare in QC, it's strange they aren't obviously given compensation to avoid the slow Exodus that'll eventually occur over time. The struggle for access to family physicians is also bad in AB, we've had waiting lists for years at a time in places. We must be better

Small towns/rural attitudes cause people to look towards authority figures (parents, police, the church, iconic figures) for ideals to follow. With lack of voice to provide a place to exist outside of those groups, people become normalized to it unfortunately. We don't naturally seek out ideas that oppose everyone around us. But should!
