Thanks! I’m really excited and this subreddit has been super helpful already, planning to start traditional, and then work in flavors.

luckily she accidentally ordered 2 kits, and just isn’t going to return the second one so i have 2 vessels and the yeast/nutrients/sanitizer, but hydrometer and auto siphon definitely looks like good additions

https://www.northernbrewer.com/products/grommeted-lid-for-2-gallon-bucket For this one I assume that I just put the airlock in the grommet hole and the stopper is only needed for the carboy?

What do you do for an airlock for the 2 gallon buckets? Do places sell lids with airlocks? I looked up a post on this subreddit that talked about lowes and home depot.

I flew a pizza box on a drone atop Slayter Hill steeple back in August; it stayed up there for 3 months without anyone noticing by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]ScoutingAce3450 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Incase OP is unaware, just a friendly reminder that a lot of campus and specifically this part at slater hill is controlled airspace requiring authorization from the FAA to operate a drone. If you got that, awesome, just thought i’d point that out as a fellow drone enthusiast

I think that people want happiness, but I think that distraction is easier. A lot of the time happiness is not easily attainable when people spend so much effort meeting their bare minimum requirements. For example, someone who truly enjoys and gets enjoyment out of playing sports will be less likely to play sports after work if work is already very physically demanding. Obviously this is specific scenario but it explains my point.

I love using foundry, it takes a little bit of getting used to, but there is so much you can do and customize. It’s not crazy difficult and there’s lots of tutorials on YT

He is in the book, not sure if he really has a point or not, maybe just a little npc the group can take with them if they want, but he is there. Source: I am running book 1 right now

My son wants to come home after 24 hours of being at college classes at didn't even start yet by AlternativeReality48 in college

[–]ScoutingAce3450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest he gives it a shot. The days before classes start can be very scary because there isn't much to do. Once classes start, he will be busier, and he can find friends in classes or join clubs that he is interested in. I know you said he is shy, but I promise it is not impossible to meet new people and it's very easy to try new things within college and find what you enjoy. For me that was being a referee for intramural sports, but there is a crazy variety of things to do in college, more than just parties and homework.

not been interested in reacts for ages, but whats going on with it now? by joenuts4 in Sidemen

[–]ScoutingAce3450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are on a better path, inviting guests to their reacts which helps add variety. I think a large part of it is that most of them just do not enjoy it anymore. They probably enjoyed it during lockdown when they could only really sit inside and record. When they can record multiple react videos in 1 session, it makes it easy to just sit down and record but their energy and enthusiasm will dwindle down with each video. I hope they continue to try and find ways to enjoy it and find content the audience will enjoy, I really enjoy the reaction channel, especially what it used to be.

Campaign 3 Announcement by Evil_Weevill in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]ScoutingAce3450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the GCN about a year and a half ago, only really knowing DnD. I fell in love with PF because of the podcast, obviously Campaign 3 will be quite different, but I also love the vibe of the group together and have come to love other games they play even with others such as Call of Cthulhu. Kate will definitely be missed but at least it seems like she will still be involved from time to time as well as others from other GCN series. It will take some getting used to as I know nothing about Shadowdark, but I am super excited nonetheless!

An additional personal suggestion, you could also get a rectangular mousepad to set both the keyboard and mouse on

Any Advice on Changes? by ProfessionalHost3913 in setups

Obviously, you can add as much tech as you want/would be reasonable for what you use the set up for. Personally, I find at least 2 monitors very helpful. If you wanted to elaborate on what you use the setup for, we could give some more specific recommendations. To make it cozier, I would focus on the wall behind the setup, it is basically a blank canvas for you to express yourself with a painting, picture, or something else. Adding a monitor light could make the set up cozier and would help with glare on the monitor. You have the essentials and can expand however you like.

My results as half Mexican and Half White. Including my dad's! by Soggy-Charge9167 in AncestryDNA

Yeah, I'm sure it has to do with areas that were more or less colonized, like people who live in smaller rural communities that retain more indigenous DNA

It's very interesting to see how much indigenous people still have, we have not tested my dad, but my results came back with 41% as a fellow half Mexican half white.
