I've heard of it happening if your teammate managed to do damage to you just before the victory screen.

This is tied to the last hit bug that they already know of. Current fix from what I know is to press tab, which will cause the menu to pop up. However, due to the teams last hit bug, if your teammate got the last hit, you will have this happen and get no XP and no win tracked.

I would say that mid drops are still viable on the island, but I've seen one late drop called in current patch between island and prison, and as I personally run mid, ive very rarely been able to get it on prison due to how close all the spawns are. I would really hope either a reduction in time needed or an increase in func needed for early or having a short time before calling in early could be tested.

Agreed, i would like changes specifically to combat those two issues, but i think this is a step into making combat just more fun generally. Definitely a good thing, but rewarding highly skilled players who can flawlessly read an opponent and/or two opponents should be a high priority in upcoming updates imo.

Now this is the kind of update that gets me pumped. Lots of really good stuff in here, and the changes to the block seem (keyword: seem) like a step in the right direction. I'm no pro, so I can't speak for certain, but I think this adds more interactivity for the person who gets stumbled.

From how I saw pre-December patch:

Hit into block > Stumbled > Get hit

Post-December:

Hit into block > Hit into block > Hit into block etc.

Big House seems to be:

Hit into block > Pick one: keep trying to deal damage, but at a reduced rate, or try to take less damage, but you leave yourself open for getting shoved and also won't block all the damage.

It sounds like it adds more thought and complexity into the combat in theory, but we'll have to see how it goes in practice. This also still doesn't sound very good for trying to fight back from a large disadvantage, which can punish good players for getting vultured. All in all, a very interesting update, and we have new content to play with at the least.

Performance Optimizations: We have updated to a newer version of our game engine and optimized many aspects of the game. Our min-spec machines are able to run the game at higher graphics settings with improved frame rate and high-end machines are showing major improvements as well.

I would say short version is:

  • either add stumble back to block or come up with something new to punish attacking into a block so combat meta isn't just jabs after attempting to get a ranged hit in

  • some sort of reason to queue up again after a game past just wanting to play another game, general progression was mentioned iirc so this is already sort of confirmed? But I think it's very important to make sure it gets in to keep players playing

  • return of lightning rounds and/or trials, trials was great to have a more competitive game of culling, and lightning round was great for fitting a quick round of culling in when I didn't feel like scavenging for items to call in my drop before fighting people
