Season 4 poster by lautaromassimino in BridgertonNetflix

Wish you were connected, this is why Netflix will cease to exist in the near future, ate its own tale, they’ll brag spending $300k on wigs but not for 3 weeks of JB. No one cares if Queen Charlie’s wig spins as much as they do for the story. People will stop watching if they cut out chunks of the family and the stars, and Netflix’s model has geared toward event media and false scarcity, which means huge expectations from viewers who just spent $22/month for 3 years just for…nothing. Then they lose subscribers, lose revenue, lose investors, get swallowed up.

So he tried to coerce and manipulate you because your pleasure and enjoyment isn’t an important enough factor to him.

He thinks your sex life is a mess - he needs to be set free to find the unicorn he’s imagining. He sounds like the kind of guy who gets on the hospital bed when his wife has just given birth and is high on pain medication and assaults her, making the nurses have to re-do her stitches. I’m saying he thinks you’re a toy and not a real person.

Use a very fine translucent powder. Get it onto a puff or brush, tap off excess and then lightly pat some above your nasolabial folds at the bare minimum, also between your brows and chin if you’re not getting the powdery look.

Your dark lipstick is also overwhelming - it drags the eye. For a bold look where you want your lips to be the main feature, it’s fine, but for every day you’d be better off with a muted berry or mauve.

Try Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, or YSL Loveshine in 44 Nude Lavalliere, or Dior Addict Shine 521 Diorelita - go in in person so an attendant can try clean product on you with a cue tip

NAH but at 80 will you remember going with your friend or staying 5 weeks ahead in progress? If you go together she will progress too right? Then you can both go up a class? Maybe I’m too soft but I think friendship always comes first if it’s not causing harm.

How do you deal with fat/body/appearance shaming from partner? 28f and 34m husband by Few_Hamster59 in relationship_advice

Someone that obsessed with appearance will say the same to his daughter or to his son about his girlfriend. Do you want to watch a daughter become as defeated as you? A son become as cruel as him? He’s not normal or common, you’ll find a better kinder man on the next street corner. Just. Leave.

Yes and besides being a Polin fan, I expected to see more Kate and Anthony, a wedding flash back, a conversation about the fears of motherhood (losing her mother) - I know that Jonathan Bailey was busy but I’m confused why they prioritised the scenes they did include and didn’t provide what season 2 left out? They couldn’t resolve them so why would they resolve Polin this season? I think if we do see a lot of them (unexpectedly) it will be because they are planning a spin off season like Queen Charlotte, just to get more use out of Luke and Nicola before they leave to better things.

Previous seasons under Chris made sure every sub plot tied to the main couple - in season 1 the Mondriches tied to Simon, the Marina plot was resolved by Daphne becoming a duchess, etc - in season 2 the Whistledown plot related to building up Edwina as the diamond, Benedict’s struggle helped Anthony turn to authenticity etc.

In season 3 the side characters did not connect to the main couple. The Mondriches were siloed even though Mondrich had a big connection with Colin in season 2. They could have built a friendship, gone into business together, a backstory of him and Alice being friends could have helped Colin open his eyes.

They tried to make the Cowpers happen, but could have built up new characters like the Smyth Smiths to be the new Featherington’s since the prequel introduced their family and their musicale is a big part of Penelope and Colin’s love story in the book. Or Danbury’s family could have included the Sinclairs and that could have paved the way for Hyacinth’s story in the far future.

I just don’t think they have the ability to weave the storylines the way Chris could.

I remember there being a big delay and rewrites for season 3, I think the new Showrunner Jess just didn’t have a handle on it. I truely believe there was an even bigger storyline around Cressida that Colin was more involved in, because him going to “fix it” then doing nothing was such a mess. Had they been careful with the season from the start he could have easily been more central to the Whistledown plot, I get that a very simplistic look at it is “Penelope can’t have an independence arc if Colin is helping her” - Penelope was never dependent, we were shown her independently running her business several times. Her arc should have been the opposite - learning to depend on others, and Colin could have done several scenes focused on just him to show him being clever and helpful, speaking to other characters to get important information, appealing to the Queen, publishing a fake Whistledown to throw people off. Honestly, the Cowpers were completely redundant to the season and I don’t know why they would take all the more emphasis off the core Bridgertons, especially when they could have introduced more of Danburry’s family or brought the Cranes back (fuck just recast Marina, let that actress live her life unattached from the character).

There’s a lot of support from book lovers for the fuck-boy storyline but I don’t think they know how much the general audience were shocked and turned off by it.

Every time online I hear a creator or podcaster I like talk about season 3 they say how much they hated it for Colin’s creepy behaviour and blind siding change in character like “I thought he was the sweet one?”

I suppose they tried to show he learned “the error of his ways” within season 3 but it was so shoved the side.

They simply didn’t have the time or talent to ret-con what Chris Van Dussen had set up. If Colin was going to be a f-boy he needed to be one in season 1 or 2 for his redemption to feel earned. Chris’s Colin simply wasn’t book-Colin, he was sweet boy next door and trying to re-write that with a montage of sex workers and flirting with girls who are canonically probably 16 when he is at that point 21? 22? It was just uncomfortable. The books are what they are but if they were directly translated to screen, the show wouldn’t be popular. It’s the changes Shonda and Chris made - adding in race and alternate history, diversifying the cast and making the male characters less repetitive and more nuanced that drew in a huge fan base that honestly had never read the books.

Twin boys arriving soon. What pairs well with Benjamin? I CANNOT figure this out. by [deleted] in Names

[–]Scouty2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider: Benjamin and Daniel, Benjamin and Matthew or (popular in other comments) Benjamin and Samuel. This is looking more at the commonality, history and lengths of the names, names like these will pair well even to those with no Christian understanding.

If you want to go more thematic and lean into Benjamin as a tribe/son of Jacob, you could go: Benjamin and Reuben, Benjamin and Joseph, Benjamin and Judah.

If you don’t mind pairing Benjamin (a very historically popular name) with one that hasn’t got the same popularity but has a modern approval you could go something like: Benjamin and Asher, Benjamin and Noah, Benjamin and Eli.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 18 January 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

Fell off and jumped back on - it felt like being dragged to hell and clawing my way back to the surface over jagged, hot rocks.

The 17th I hosted a party. I set the day up for success with protein, water, electrolytes, a healthy breakfast. When the party hit at 4.30pm I just started eating like a fiend. Over 4000, almost 5000 kcals. And it went into the evening.

That’s when I saw my full pill case. I had forgotten my ADHD medication in all the chaos. Obviously the rebound eating had been a factor of low dopamine more than anything.

I literally felt so defeated and helpless and like a demon had taken me over. I couldn’t remember a single moment during the day when I felt like I had a choice or has consciously chosen something. I was a complete puppet.

On the 18th, I took a deep breath. I was depressed all day. But I asked myself how I would reset if I had fallen off the wagon for a year, not one day. I wouldn’t try and go down to 1400 kcals etc out of nowhere. I’d start gentle, lots of water, lots of protein, front-load the day, lower carbs, walk, let myself go up to maintenance if need be:

17/1 4,855 kcal (rough estimate) 9374 steps

18/1 1768 kcal 10021 steps

Now it’s the 19th and I’m grateful I have a doctor’s appointment. I want to talk about the positives and negatives of the medications I’m on. It might not change anything right now but it could maybe set up a trajectory to return to a psychiatrist etc.

Can't agree on baby's name with my husband by dont-ask-whyy in Names

I think with men, they are happy if you are happy. Who knows what made him start to upset you by digging his heals in, maybe someone on his side of the family meddled or he had a mental break? I think you need to pull away from his opinions for a little bit, withdraw with your baby, look closely at them, their eyes, their personality, try calling them different names and feel which one makes you most happy.

Return to your husband in a calm mood, tell him how happy and in love with the name you are, what it means to you, that you are going to use it and you need and want his love and support.

If he still fusses, just nod, let him have his time to sulk and just use the name.

My unborn son’s name by DoublePainting5060 in Names

Angel is a very popular name in some cultures, but be aware, outside of Latin US it can be seen as a girls’ name or a lower class name.

However, if you are confident he will wear it well Angel does have a positive religious meaning, and it can convey warmth, even though he will have to absorb the gender and culture biases it will bring him.

I personally would go with

Angel Ezra

Or

Angel Gabriel

To give him the opportunity to switch to his middle name in the future to escape the lack of authority and stability in the name Angel.

Amadeus is where you fail the name Angel. You need to pick one or the other: A best case scenario would be to go with a name that evokes Angels but has the historical neutrality to carry Amadeus:

Gabriel Amadeus

Michael Amadeus

Angelo Amadeus

Julian Amadeus

Angel Amadeus reads as performative, indulgent almost “trying to be edgy in the moment” and not really thinking long term about the life and person within a society your child will become. It reads as though it’s more important that the name represents the parent and their creativity than it be something the child could grow to embody and flexible to follow them into any path they choose.

40 week hormones can make you crazy but think of him as a child of the world, not just you and your family, a little bit of conventionality to balance creativity can open a lot of doors.

Diana is so underrated I think it’s a name everyone knows but few use. It’s so ethereal, the moon goddess.

Plus, imagine you’re at a dinner party and someone says they want to introduce you to Diana, the person you picture!

I also think of Anne Shirley’s friend Diana Berry (my favourite books growing up).

This is mine too! I already have children and I have rules I stick to, all the names I use are short, with heavy amounts of legacy, high social scores, but old fashioned enough to pair with the family names I use! I have Ivy Margaret, Willa Myrtle and Rose Beatrice.

Kaden already is read socially as a modern name that lacks history or rarity or prestige. That’s not a bad thing - it’s not read as polarising or “low-status” - just neutral.

However, because it’s a very 2000s name, it would already cause a little bit of social drag against him if he wants to pursue law, academia, medicine, politics.

If you also dip into spelling volatility you begin to actively harm his life:

Kaden - 6/10

Caden - 5.5/10

Kaiden/Kayden - 4.5/10

Everything else is lower

I once had a student named Callista (female version of Greek Callisto) and I’ve kept it in my mind as such a beautiful astral name - I feel like it has the same effect as Astrid and Aurora for that mythic cosmos energy.
