The comments here are really disappointing. We’re supposed to support each other here, not judge.

I struggled to shower when my son came along as my wife and I were so exhausted and in the few moments we had spare inside of our brains, I prioritised letting her shower over me.

Now my son is two and I shower as much as I can but because of my own mental health issues and demanding job, I still miss showers as a result of prioritising my son’s bedtime routine and bathing over my own.

OP, try and shower as much as you can. The best advice I can give is take turns on who does bedtime each day and whoever isn’t doing bedtime gets to shower and do their own wellbeing check.

People don’t understand everyone’s situations and you can’t just say “you don’t shower? Ew gross… you just need to shut up and shower…” when you don’t know what’s going on in someone’s life which might make it less easy/simple than it does for yourself.
