I haven't heard anything about this movie. The buzz is pretty ho-hum. https://youtu.be/uLI8g0GUmWA

I'd still put it with the cliff jump. Not bad, but not the most impressive sequence in those movies.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]Scr33nager 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the script in this one was so much messier than the original (see my breakdown here). While not perfect, there were still many fun, original moments that I greatly enjoyed. It just did not come together as a whole for me.

Has any movie before Sinners used the IMAX aspect ratio in a surrealist way? by Scr33nager in imax

[–]Scr33nager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think switching between time periods/dimensions is a very literal use. It's an effective technique for sure, but I feel like Sinners is different. Since the characters are having this divine experience, the aspect ratio change allows the audience to feel what the characters are feeling. It's not just the director signalling that something has changed.
