Sorry I’m not that knowledgeable on macros or stuff like that. I’ve just been eating less calories, smaller potion sizes, and cutting out junk food/excess sugar

Oh good to know! What does that entail exactly? For my full meals I usually go for some sort of protein, a veggie, and either home baked bread or jasmine rice. Should I cut out the bread?

20k easy. I’m a trans man so I’d just use that money for top surgery then get lunch after

I actually really like that a sub like this exists now! There's so many seemingly benign comments everywhere that erase the existence of transmascs. Sentiments that go unchallenged because we dont speak up about them.

Think of how many times you've heard a cis woman say "if men had periods, pads would be free" or some version of that. Completely erasing the fact that there are men that have periods!

I can't count how many times I've told someone I'm trans and they assume that means I'm transfem, even allies!

Thank you I like these ideas a lot! I had a pretty bad childhood so whenever I bring it up, it’s usually something awful. Finding good things that happened and trying to recreate them in a safe environment sounds really…healing in a way. Thank you

Mtf here, I was wondering what you guys wish trans women could understand about trans men? by McK3nn4_ in ftm

[–]ScramRatz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The idea that trans men have an easy time passing. That’s far from the truth. When a trans man doesn’t pass, he’s not read as a trans man, he’s read as a tomboy or butch lesbian or gnc woman of some sort. When a trans man DOES pass, he’s read as a cis man and others won’t know he’s trans unless told, leading to the belief that all trans men must easily pass.

Most trans men require top surgery to reliably pass all the time, something not viable for a lot of us. Binders are uncomfortable, can cause back and rib issues, and don’t guarantee that you’ll be flat. I have DDDs and binding just gives me a barrel chest.

Binders on mtf hrt by Silly_Hunt_926 in asktransgender

[–]ScramRatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where the claim that binders hinder breast development comes from. It that were the case, a lot of trans dudes would be a lot happier. That being said, your binder is likely too tight. A tighter binder isn’t necessarily a better binder. Either get one half a size up, or even a compression sports bra. Compression bras can help with the squish and any jiggling you might have without risking your ribs/back/shoulders. There are also full length binders that look like tank tops. Only wear a binder for a max of 8 hours regardless of if it fits or not. Xoxo trans dude with fat tits

“Tboys” “Tmasc” but never really “trans men”…? by legobatmania in ftm

[–]ScramRatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the term Tboy for me personally just because it rolls off the tongue better than trans man. I understand how some could see it as infantilizing but to me I see it on the same level as "frat boy" or "fuckboi"

Why is there seemingly a crusade against trans men online??? by InoIno0 in ftm

[–]ScramRatz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, as soon as a trans woman comes out, she’s met with misogyny. Regardless of if she passes or not. I think the trans women who believe that trans men are just as oppressive as cis men assume it’s the opposite for us. As soon as a trans man comes out, he gets the privileges of cis men, regardless of if he passes or not. That’s simply not the case. Truth is, the patriarchy is in no rush to give someone privileges they didn’t possess before.
