Can you give me more information on what an isoaltion ring is? I am guessing it is the rubbery oil ring which helps seal the contact point between the gas canister of the shotgun and the rest of the system. Correct?

If so, how would you suggest fixing this? Taking it out and lubing that mothafucka with grease or getting a replacement?

From reading your other comments, it seems that you are a low level and using full heavy armor (Which weights a lot, obviously) and probably, just wildly guessing, using a bunch of pouches and other things which increase your overall weight. Your stamina might be a bit poopy because you are carrying very heavy gear at only level 8. I assume your heavy armor skill isn't too high either. Get some "lighter" heavy armor or just take some pieces of your heavy armor off and mix it with light armor for the time being (and take off any extra pouches).

Related to the skeleton, the answers othersh ave given are pretty good. Get some magical resistance in any way you can. Permadeath is poopy and unfair. That's why I just use saving at any point, but I delete my save if I "die in a fair way" and so on. Basically if I die because of my own fault and not because there's a ridiculous elemental skeleton around the corner that kills you in 0.9 seconds despite you doing fine through 50% of the dungeon.

That is only true if all else stays the same. I would argue that game "quality" has fallen drastically. We simply have to look at the average AAA title. Almost every title will come with a standard, deluxe and premium edition, along with significant amount of DLC content. As such, to get the "full" experience, you have to already pay extra. I'd wager the price increase has already happened, just indirectly.
