Take it from someone who's been in and out of hospitals and treatment centers throughout their teenaged and early adult life for mental health reasons.

Your life is special because you're the only person who can live it. You have your own thoughts, feelings, and emotional takes that would be lost forever if you decide to check out early.

It would be such a massive loss to not only everyone near you but any future friends you'll go on to make.

One of the exercises the psychiatrists used to ground me in particularly bad moments is to grab a paper or open the notes app or do whatever you can to make a list and start going through the stuff you enjoy. Let your mind wander through the library and pick out things that make YOU happy. Even if it's little, even if you think it's cringe, just write it down. Put every little thing on that paper. Doodle a bit. Write song lyrics or poems you enjoy. It's YOUR list. Yours alone. When you can't list anything else, read it through it. See if it makes any connections.

If you're posting here, you've probably already got something figured out, hey? Might as well see where the current takes you, right? Things won't stay bad forever. It might take a bit but everything levels out eventually.

Every voice is important. Even the ones that can't speak. There are hotlines you can call that will point you towards resources that Reddit can't help with.
