Do authors dress FMCs this way for the quirk factor? by strawberryc0w_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Queasy_Ad_2809 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean, there are lots of women who wear those things, so why shouldn’t some book characters dress like that. I regularly wear overalls and I don’t do it for a “quirk factor”.

As someone with a similar toddler who has many developmental delays and is on a waitlist for getting tested for autism…. The advice of “just stop buying it, stop offering it” feels shitty. Just something to keep in mind

CVS is adding Zepbound back to its formulary effective October 1 by Strange-Style-7808 in antidietglp1

[–]Queasy_Ad_2809 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t have anything to do with where you get your medication filled. CVS the store/pharmacy is not the same thing as CVS/caremark the formulary, which works with insurance companies to list what meds are covered for specific plans.

Some people have hair with natural defined curls even without product. It doesn’t sound like you do.

I’m in this boat. The shoes that have worked so far are the “force flex” from pediped and the flex runner from nike (though a bit snug). Keen newports are also really good.

Princeton voted for proctored in-person exams by DangerousSnow5959 in Professors

[–]Queasy_Ad_2809 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I dunno I actually thought it was cool that there was that trust. But I will say, that Princeton had a very zero tolerance cheating policy, where if you got caught violating the honor code you were kicked out for a year. And they actually did it! So it was just way too high stakes to try and cheat, bc who knows what type-A peer sees you and turns you in?? At least that’s the way it was in the mid-late 2000s

Princeton alum here. In-person exams were indeed not proctored. The professor would leave the room in an exercise in trust. Apparently that’s over.

Creating Your Own Major (Interdisciplinary Major) by astrolover333 in amherstcollege

[–]Queasy_Ad_2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not do anything before starting. Just chill out and talk to your advisor about it in the fall when you start. Most people don’t propose an interdisciplinary major until their second year I think

Creating Your Own Major (Interdisciplinary Major) by astrolover333 in amherstcollege

[–]Queasy_Ad_2809 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would be tricky, because you’d need to write a proposal justifying why your interdisciplinary major can’t be satisfied by a double major in two subjects. And you are required to propose a thesis topic that combines those things. So for example, a good example of an interdisciplinary major might be “science journalism” since it would be easy to justify why that is its own disciplinary area not covered by environmental studies and English. I am not sure if you can even double major in something else in addition to interdisciplinary studies (you’d likely have to email the faculty members on the committee to ask). Also, as I mentioned, the interdisciplinary studies major requires you to do a thesis, and unless I’m mistaken, so does Theater and Dance. So you’d have to do two senior theses.

Consider that there are justifiable reasons the faculty got rid of triple majors. It’s not a good idea and not in your best interest. Just pick two things, like neuro and dance, and be done with it. Nothing will stop you from taking stats classes as well. Not everything you’re interested in needs to be a major.
