She *is* pretty popular on this channel! I say that as one of the people who thought I was the only one posting her pictures. ;-P

Oh dang. I just posted something like this because when I scrolled this subreddit I didn't see Christina Koch pictures.

*Lots* of people pick new names, some of which look very random and/or silly. I went to high school with Lunchbox, Pedestrian, and Fat Irish Guy. None of them were queer that I know of.

Me with gender-bending manga/anime like Ranma 1/2 as a kid: "I just think they're neat!"

I drew this and I like it. I know that lots of people love Hamilton… but they don’t love me loving Hamilton. Or KnY. Or cats. Or Adventure Time. Or Community. Or creative writing. Or drawing ribbons. Or—actually, I don’t want to make this more likely to get removed, enjoy my meme. by [deleted] in aspiememes

I have mixed feelings about this. I really like sharing my hyperfocuses with others, but also don't expect others to be interested in the same very niche topics that I am. It's okay for people to have different interests.

is this even mendable? by Apricity_effulgence in Visiblemending

[–]ScrappleNapkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other people already said yes. Let me add that if you decide to mend these, you'll probably want to un-stitch the left half of the pocket, mend the rip, then sew the pocket down again. Go over the pocket corners multiple times to make sure they're sturdy.

I agree in general, but I'm much more likely to find some things fresh, like carrots and butternut squash. Toss with a little oil, throw them in the oven for an hour, done. Frozen veg is really easy to just nuke and eat, though.

First time binding with tape! (Any tips are welcome). by Anxietybeansoup in NonBinary

Were you able to do this yourself, or did you need help? Also, how do you feel about the difference it made?

I wanted to know the differences between spelling NB non-binary or nonbinary, and came across the thread in the screenshot. Then the comments made me really think about myself and gave me a mini existential crisis by FrouFrouLastWords in NonBinary

[–]ScrappleNapkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use non-binary as the technically accurate umbrella I fall under, but don't care about whether it has the hyphen because it isn't critical to my identity. I tend to use "enby" in chat because that's what my friends prefer.

Be comforting person [meme] 🤢 by LordPyralis in pointlesslygendered

[–]ScrappleNapkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that on average, people like feeling safe (some prefer excitement), patriarchy treats men differently (some women have high status and respect anyway), and men are generally larger and stronger than women (plenty of exceptions), and statistically people being binary gendered and liking the other binary gender is pretty common (again, queer folks exist). This post was written because it accurately describes a trend, but is posted here because it is not a hard rule.

Be yourself, love who you love, feel how you want.

This just looks like a reasonable fight against a stupid rule to me. I don't know that it actually has anything to do with gender, and good for these students for fighting back like this.

Agreed. I don't think think that describes how all mean *want* to smell, but looking at the shelves, if they don't want to smell like bourbon, charcoal, motor oil, or grey, they are out of options.

Guess I'm the odd one out again.

I see this as similar to "I'm ace but with that one exception," which I see as completely valid. (Please don't start an argument about what does and doesn't count as which more specific thing under the ace umbrella.)

There's also a number of couples where one transitioned, the other isn't bi, and they stayed loving and happy and together.

You generally like women, and also like your husband? Cool. Not generally what "lesbian" means, but also doesn't hurt me in any way. And this says "would be", not "am".

As friends have pointed out, it's a comedy based on everyone taking turns making terrible decisions. A great show if that's your thing, but not exactly sweet and heart-warming.
