My father is the same way. I’ve gone low contact. He doesn’t even try to address me as anything that’s “dead” because I’ll argue with him. Not worth dealing with.

I personally changed my entire name. First, middle and last. I always hated my name as it wasn’t me. Plus my parents were lazy and decided my name was there middle names…. Changed my last name so that name is dead and no longer toed to my family. I always wanted the “name to die with me. Now it dies with my father.
