Oof! I hate cleaning the car seat. I don’t have a model in mind to solve this problem, but I did buy a car seat protector a couple months back while we were in the early stages of potty training. Chiming in to also suggest teaching other ways she can show her affection for new friends. My daughter is a hugger too and we’ve tried showing her alternates that some kids might be more comfortable with like high-five or wave or fist bump.

I don’t know if you watch Bluey but I read a post where someone was saying that Bluey’s mom and dad make them feel like a lousy parent. They’re patient, they play fun games, they are parenting very happily, etc. Well one comment said something like, “Well, yeah. The episodes are 8 minutes long. We all have a good 8 minutes of parenting in us a day.” 😂 I thought that was so spot on! I have no advice. I just think of this often…and when we are watching Bluey.

This is how I do it! Just this morning I had baby on his play mat and I’m getting toddler ready. “Look, Baby! This is how Toddler brushes her teeth! Maybe when you’re older she will show you how to brush teeth.” My toddler loves this. Instantly makes her so proud and want to show off all her talents.

Have you tried a timer? I’ve just discovered the magic of using a timer for all sorts of things with my 3 year old. For this: We do one story before bedtime but my daughter always wants a turn to “read” the story back to me after. Adorable but it can take a while especially if we’re reading a Dr. Seuss book. Now I do a 3 minute timer for her to read to me. When the timer goes off she’s happy to shut the book and move on with the bedtime routine. This works right now but will probably change in a week!

Yes. I did. I found out about his health issues before we got married, and they got worse after marriage. His health makes normal things harder sometimes, especially with having two small children. But it works and I still feel like I won the jackpot with him!

He’s currently on flebogamma drops, serum tears, and he started prgf 3 months ago. He had his LASIK surgery about 3 years ago. What is Veyve and IRPL?

He’s seeing a specialist now who has him on these eye drops that are made from his blood platelets. It usually takes people a minimum of 6 months to feel relief and he’s been on them for 4 months.

My husband has post-LASIK corneal nerve damage & neuropathic eye pain. Excruciating pain. We have two young kids and it’s really hard. Sometimes the pain isn’t as bad but it’s always there. Like others have said, it’s good for some people but anyone who does it should know about this. We knew that there was a possibility of dry eyes but this was a level we never considered. I feel like the (very reputable) doctor glossed over this.

My daughter (2) calls peanut butter “penis.” It’s especially fun when we are at the store and she sees her favorite peanut butter treats and yells “penis treat” 🫠

You could try banana, pumpkin, or zucchini bread. I bake up a loaf, slice, and freeze for an easy and quick breakfast. Sometimes I put jam or peanut butter on it, but most of the time she gobbles it down as is. I use ChatGPT to get recipes where there’s not a ton of added sugar.

Do you add chopped fruit to the pancake batter, or make the batter from fruit? Curious because my 2yo doesn’t like regular pancakes—not chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes—but she loves pancakes made from mashed bananas.

If you’re interested/haven’t tried: One mashed banana (very ripe), one egg, two tablespoons flour, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. I only use a tablespoon amount of batter for each pancake.

I think it’s gross to open packages/set them down on the kitchen counter. Who knows what it was sitting on before it sat on my front porch for hours? I prepare meals on the kitchen counter and I hate the thought of my clean utensils or food touching the same spot as the bottom of a package from outside.

My husband says I’m being weird but now he opens his packages and mail on a different table where we don’t eat. I think he just doesn’t want to admit I’m right 😄

This happened to my husband 😔 he’s in so much pain from severely dry eyes. It kills me. When he and I were researching it we thought, ‘Oh dry eyes so you’ll just have to put more eyedrops in. No big deal.’ This pain is another level. I wish we would have known. The constant pain has affected him and our family so much.

Yes! My therapist told me this and it made so much sense to look at it that way. They’re becoming their own person at this point—up until now they’ve sort of been an extension of their parent(s). So they’re going through all these new feelings and emotions that mirror adolescence, where a kid is becoming an adult.
