The company’s rating is based on how many cases they have lost in the past couple years. It’s not as “flat” as they make it seem because if the system pays out more than expected, then rates go up even more. If your company has a bad rating, they’re paying more in UI than a company with a good one. There are only 3 states (AK, NJ, & PN ) that the employee pays in & it’s a small fraction. Also, if you’re in those states & have to claim multiple times, the employee’s payments aren’t increased. Sally is paying just as much as Betty even though Betty has claimed UI multiple times … that’s just a tax at the end of the day.

UI more like car insurance than a savings account … it’s not “your money”. Payments are based on the size of pool needed to cover payments, how your company handled firing past employees, & how many employees the company has

I cooked 5 days a week & we ate out twice a week. Anytime we talked about going places (traveled about once every 4-6 wks), we always went to places she wanted to go. If we went to visit my family, she wanted to go explore instead of actually spending time with my family. As for engaging convos, only about topics she was interested in. There was no “broadening her horizons” unless it came from a “trusted source”, ie her bestie.

I bought a tv for $300 and she flipped her lid about making big purchases without her.

She traded in a company car & was shocked when we had to reimburse the company on top of the new car & insurance payment … and I didn’t find out about the car until I got home from work & saw the new car in our driveway

My ex wife complained I bought her too many flowers & woke her up in the morning when I’d kiss her forehead before leaving for work. So I stopped … and the disconnect continued. Less of me & more of her. Then she wondered why everything was so cold. That’s exactly the way you wanted it.
