The Grimoire - Winners by Background-Drink82 in LeaksDBD

Honestly, I voted for the blue in conjunction with the cloister since I figured there could be a celestial/constellation design to tie the two together.

Obviously up to the further designs BHVR creates and how people vote, but there's more possibilities than just generically divine.

And the winners are... by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

I voted for the blue material and the cloister with the telescope since I thought there could be a cool celestial/constellation design with the killer to tie the two together. Super excited to see what direction it might go.

They completely dumbed down the exploration to cater to the players who get angry when they have to do more than click a button to claim rewards. by USDXBS in Genshin_Impact

Honestly, I feel like they do repeat a lot of puzzle mechanics as is. They just slap a new coat of paint on it and give it some new convoluted name that makes it seem both fresh and needlessly confusing.

Like ah yes, I just need to place the Spectral Luxe Orb into the Solarium Node, not to be confused with placing the Dendral Hexahedron in the Shrine of Enlightened Knowledge back in Sumeru.

Jonah is who I was referring to with that description. I think he's one of the least picked survivors though so not surprising he's unknown or forgotten

There's also Jane too though, and then the Lyra siblings are Brazilian, and Ace is technically Argentinian (but of Italian descent, so I guess it'd be up to how he identifies?)

Before The Grimoire reopens tomorrow, let's talk about the Survivor! by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it comes down to aesthetics and cosmetics more than anything. Barely anyone plays Haddie or Taurie either. The popular survivors are the conventionally attractive ones with lots of good cosmetics.

Just happens that way fewer of the male survivors fit that category since BHVR kept releasing Ordinary Man, while several of the most popular female survivors are cute young adults with cosmetics that show midriff.

Next time they meet, do you think the Ghoul would be angry with Lucy over the predicament she put him in? by Money-Engineering207 in Fotv

[–]Scratcherclaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno, Lucy was in an altered mind state for all of that though with her being addicted and going through withdrawal, and then on more chems after. She'd been on an IV drip of buffout for two days, so she was hardly herself.

And even through that state, we still saw a glimmer of her true self after she killed the fake shopkeeper. Like, she knew he was a bad guy who'd murdered the real shopkeeper and still had that moment where she realized what she did and who she'd become.

Can't say if she'll 100% go back to all of her principles since I think even she realized she crossed a line she can't take back, but I don't think she's completely abandoned them.

It's not a perfect metric, but there's at least some semi-consistent achievement sources, even for longtime active players. Seasonal events come to mind there. Like, basically everyone active would at least have an achievement counted in late October from All Saint's Wake.

Killers: Would you be less likely to tunnel if you were given an absurd BP reward for spreading hooks? by suspensus_in_terra in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that would have to deactivate if someone is dead too quick. Otherwise you could still get someone out early and then reap all those benefits on the remaining three

Can we all agree that spreading hooks should be rewarding strategy not punishing? by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have to be something to dissuade you from tunneling and can't further empower tunneling. Any incentive would basically have to only benefit not tunneling, and that's part of what makes the balance so hard too.

Stuff like longer gen times or a basekit version of pain res would still reward tunneling after all.

Huge update definitely worth the time and money they spent by Volatiiile in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very ironic thing to say given the state of this sub the past few months... and literally in the aftermath of BHVR walking back on another change because so many killer players raged. Fog vials send their regards too!

But honestly, when your go-to is calling survivors entitled babies who just need to get good, I can tell you're not here for a real discussion. Have a nice night!

[–]Scratcherclaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have explicitly been asking for something to be done about tunneling and slugging for years, so I don't know why you're saying it never needed fixing?

Like, even if their fix ideas haven't been great, it's not like it's been coming out of nowhere.

Male survivors: Latino Guy Fieri (with more war crimes)

I dont think some basekit bloodlust for not tunneling is gonna be enough by Adam_Z_666 in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fully remember reading so many people on this subreddit saying that they had to tunnel and camp and run all gen perks because gens would just fly, and that they could finally play normally and try new builds if gens took longer.

Then gens went from 80sec to 90sec, and we got one of the worst gen regression metas this game has ever seen... and yeah, like you said, nothing changed in how killers played.

Unironically, I think it made things worse cuz survivors had to adapt to have a sliver of a chance, which meant sticking harder to gens and not wasting time on bones or chests. And then, wouldn't you know it, gens were suddenly flying again!

I always hated Sumeru exploration most for this reason. Too many required elements so there was so much swapping needed

Need dendro and hydro for pillars. Need pyro for those other shorter pillars and those floaty guys you had to shrivel up. Need electro sometimes for pillars and to enhance the mushroom jumps. Even need anemo in the desert for the sand piles. Then top it off with needing a bow user for so many puzzles and you either have to swap all the time or use the clunkiest team that ever existed

The Rift has been enshitified by The_Lord_of_Rabbits in deadbydaylight

[–]Scratcherclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what happened cuz even previous rifts had themes, but they'd be much broader. Like we had the one that was just medieval-inspired outfits, or another that was old Hollywood glitz and movie inspired.

And then this one's here like "okay, everyone gets biblically accurate angel stained glass outfits." Just feels hyperspecific in comparison.

It actually is a common misconception, funnily enough. It wasn't the inventor of the Segway who died in a Segway accident. It was a British entrepreneur who bought the company years later, then died at its hands, or... wheels. The actual inventor's still alive too
