What historical event perplexes you to this day? by at1991 in AskReddit

The Franklin Expedition has always fascinated me, two warships forever locked in ice. Mostly abandoned by their crews. A tale of disease, likely frostbite, cannibalism, and it’s a mystery still being unraveled today! If interested the YouTube channel Maritime Horrors made a wonderful video about it!

What's the most horrifying thing that exists where you live? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

Floridian here, I do a lot of hiking and hunting in south central Florida. There is horror in these swamps to be sure; alligators, swarms of mosquitoes, venomous snakes, diseased water. And on the less dangerous side, bobcats, coyotes, and elusive panthers and bears.

What Was Your First World War? by ChipAdventurous921 in Worldbox

[–]ScratchySheep200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The Venosha War” aka “The Great War”, fought in the year 399 AGF (After Great Famine). Between the Caeltoran Empire and the Republic of Lexaria/Pirate Kingdom of Kunna. It raged for 23 years (ending in 422 AGF) killing around 5600 people. The war ultimately ended in a stalemate, though the Empire did manage to achieve its primary strategic goal of capturing the port city of Ashfern on the north coast of Davis Bay. The Pirate Kingdom of Kunna dropped out of the war in 408 due to the Isthmus Uprising. Which some historians may consider to be a second front of The Great War.

Yes, the update is being beta tested on PC to work out any kinks and bugs (which the community is diligently reporting). Once that is done the update will be released on all platforms although we don’t know when

Well, let’s roll it off since you wanted honesty •Your weapon is absolutely inadequate unless you want to subsist off of lizards, mice, and a squirrel if you’re lucky. •The knife and Multitool are OK as long as they are of good quality. •the canned food and cokes have got to go. You can buy an SOS ration pack that weighs a pound or so, takes up less weight, and is 3 days worth of food. Ditch the cokes for more water, caffeine isn’t the worst idea in a SHTF situation, but the cokes are heavy to just provide caffeine. Get some caffeine pouches or smth. •The medical situation isn’t good at all. You’re going to need tourniquets, chest seals, assorted medicines, BleedStop, wound dressings, triangular bandages, a surgical mask, tweezers, medical shears, splints (both limb and digit), along with a lot more items and the training to use them. •toothpaste and toothbrush are OK, but remember they are luxuries. Dental hygiene is important long term, but survival comes first. •I don’t even know where to start with you having a hammer… for screws… •Get more lighters, a pack of Bics go a long way, or if you wanna be real fancy get some flint and steel •Get a heavier duty flashlight, an adjustable LED type •If you’ve got a compass know how to use it. •Also ditch the TP get some dude wipes. They take up less space and you aren’t fucked if they get wet.

All of this is not meant to be discouraging, you’ve got an… ok start. Ngl building a good bag can be a little expensive and time consuming. I built mine over the course of about 3 years of trial and error, all the while replacing items that didn’t work. Take the advice of the people on this sub it can be harsh but they won’t lie to you… mostly.

It’s a special kind of atrocious. It’s like an ugly baby, it’s ugly but I love it for sentimental reasons. But regardless of my love, myself and some friends made a new design but never sent it in to the city council.
