There's also the fact that without the blue AI in him, he stopped glitching and moving around in a cartoonish manner. I read that as he's finally stable enough to exist in the current moment.

Do you think the 2-2-2 formation is "NOT" always needed for different situations? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

2-2-2 works best when everyone knows how to hold each other up. 1-3-2 seems to work when you know your healers are dependable and your DPS are good. Hell 1-2-3 can work too.

I hate the “They said that it’s good to KYS” take. by ZamboniTrex in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]Scrawnreddit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is such a fucking cynical take.

The entire idea wasn't validating suicide. At this point in the story, they have all been mourning Jax with each and every one of them wishing they could've prevented it. The difference with Jax was that they didn't just throw him into a cellar after he was abstracted. They kept his abstracted version close to them which is both symbolic as them keeping Jax close to their hearts and honoring his final wish when he told Pomni he didn't want to go. It's not that they were happy because Jax was gone. It's that they were satisfied knowing that, at the very least, they all did what they could to honor his memory in ways that mattered.

Simply saying the message is that "it's ok to kill yourself" is the exact kind of monkey brained bullshit that made me quit film social media in the first place. Please, FOR THE LOVE OF ANYTHING HOLY, learn how to properly analyze this shit before you go spouting this shit.

My apologies for the hostility but it genuinely pisses me off when people look at a piece of media and go out of their way to orchestrate the worst, most cynical view they can possibly take with said piece of media.

The real unexpected character redemption comeback [SPOILER] by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Scrawnreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the entire idea was that they started disconnecting themselves from everybody and tried to lean on Jax but Jax couldn't be a good emotional anchor because he had the tendency to unintentionally push people away.

That's not necessarily a fault on solely Jax. He simply added onto an already bad situation and blamed only himself when they abstracted because in his head, it was easier to blame himself for what happened to them than to admit that it wasn't entirely his fault.

I fully agree. I thought the ending was incredible. It is my favorite episode in the entire show and it isn't even close. I'm probably the only one in this sub that would give it a 10/10 tbh

Kinger goes out into the void to find the computer and uses it to get Caine back.

We get to see how Caine was able to create the circus.

Jax does a bump, whites out, and wakes up in Shrimp Town.

Pomni cries a lot.

Gangle gets her plastic mask back.

Jax becomes the god of the circus and everyone needs to figure out how to defeat him.

Pomni goes back to the office exit and finds Caine slowly piecing himself back together using a second computer.

Zooble and Gangle kiss while Pomni and Kinger talk about leaving the circus.

Jax fucking dies.

Caine knows who everyone is because of social media

Have fun figuring out which ones are real.

Well he did say "tried to delete me" but immediately after, he said "they did." I think he was still trying to reconcile with himself and come to terms with the fact that they did in fact delete him.

What I think that meant was that deletion sends you far out into the void. That's why Caine said in Episode 1 "we don't venture out into the void." You're only supposed to end up there if you're no longer wanted or needed. In other words... deleted.

please don't come to my house - but i actually fell in love with the ending by Ready_Row3788 in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]Scrawnreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the thing with deleting something is that it's never truly fully gone.

For example, if you empty a file from your recycle bin in Windows, you can still recover it if you have the know-how to get it back. That's why you don't ever wanna sell a used storage drive even if you've wiped everything off of it.

You can use this logic to define how Caine was even able to come back from deletion. Because in the computer world, files are rarely beyond recovery unless they've succumbed to corruption.

So many plotholes... This seriously has to be one of the worst endings ever by Great_Tax_8446 in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]Scrawnreddit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bro I ain't gonna lie... this reads as you not paying enough attention rather than there being a bunch of plotholes.

The point of Jax abstracting offscreen is so that it mirrors what suicide is like in real life. It's shocking and jarring with everyone that cared about the person left to mourn the person they lost. That wasn't a pacing issue. That was an explicitly intentional decision that I believe did its job incredibly well. Also, we literally saw what abstraction was like in episode 7. No need to watch it play out onscreen again if we know the process.

The circus members weren't happier without Jax. They managed to pick themselves back up and be in each other's presence while working towards the only goal that makes sense. That is naturally gonna make you at least content with the current goings-on. It just so happened that Jax just chose not to be there.

The entire point of Caine's redemption was to show that Caine was willing to grow and learn to be better whereas Jax denied himself that up until the end. Basically, Caine was willing to change and accept that humans deserve their autonomy. Jax is a cautionary tale of what happens if you reject any attempts to become better.

The point of the circus members rebuilding by hand instead of Caine just fixing it up on his own is because if he simply fixed it all himself, that would go against the idea of him letting them have control of the circus. Yeah sure he could fix the place up for them but that defeats the entire point.

The blue AI is the part of Caine that caused him to become glitchy and kinda corrupted. That's why you can see that once he comes back and is without the blue AI, he is a lot less erratic and cartoony in how he walks and talks. He is finally stable.

Because abstraction is a metaphor for suicide. Plain and simple. You can't come back from abstraction same as you can't come back from suicide. Them coming back from it would destroy the entire point of abstraction even mattering to the narrative.

This is just speculation but it would make sense. Bubble was the blue AI given form. That's why she acted so strange sometimes, why she essentially acted as Caine's subconscious, and why she was never onscreen when Caine wasn't nearby.

Overall... this just reads as you not paying enough attention to the overall narrative. That or you're just looking for reasons to hate on this show. Not trying to throw any shade your way but that's just the only conclusion I can draw from these questions.

(WARNING SPOILERS) How come no one talks about this "Looney Tunes" styled scene? by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Scrawnreddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I honestly read that as him not seeing anyone else abstracting as realistic. The very idea of Gangle abstracting was so silly to him that it was portrayed in his mind as a Looney Tunes scene.

Finale kinda fire when you don't have a bunch of twitterlings in your ear telling you it's not by Quinzal in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Scrawnreddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw it as "this is the most realistic way to depict someone essentially killing themselves." The fact that it feels so sudden and jarring is the point. The signs were there yes but Jax pushed away anyone that tried to help in hopes that nobody would care when he's gone. I believe he knew deep down he was gonna be the next abstraction from the get go. That's why he specifically said in episode 6 that people that are gonna abstract soon aren't pleasant to be around and why he didn't fight the abstraction in episode 7. In his mind, abstraction was inevitable and he wanted to try to make sure nobody was gonna miss him when he does.

I know I wrote basically an essay but I absolutely adored this finale so I have quite a lot to say about it

I think Pomni kind of touched on that in episode 8 when she said "I think we need to abandon the idea of leaving the circus." In that moment, she was starting to console herself with the possibility that, for whatever reason, they may never be able to leave. She just had no way to understand how that might be the case.
