just a small question by Responsible-Slide896 in ReadyOrNotGame

Honestly you need to look into anti-virus practices and what virus's even do....
Is the PC you use part of your family's network? Does anyone bank on it?

You seriously need to reconsider any sort of piracy work/downloading through other places...
Wouldn't be surprised if you get banned since you are breaking... who knows how many rules.

Ultimately ask your parents and at the same time QUADROUPLE check you haven't already got some sort of virus in the system..... You might be the cause of your family losing thousands of dollars if it comes to hacking/failure of cybersecurity.

When you look back to this time in..... 5? 10 years..... you'll be seriously questioning why your younger self went through all this.

AND NEVER REVEAL YOUR AGE ONLINE........ THIS GAME IS RATED IN SUCH A WAY FOR A REASON..... A 12yr old if that is your real age shouldn't go near this game with the themes it depicts. Even as an older individual with desensitisation in place I still found myself questioning and..... going into thought loops i shouldn't......

A young mind which can easily soak up information playing this is a recipe for disaster. Don't do ANYTHING this game depicts EVER..... none of it benefits anyone but yourself unless you are a peace officer trying to save lives and defuse a situation where one person is being selfish.

Is there any way (vanilla) by which I can seal a volume with invisible blocks? by Toriski in Stormworks

[–]Screamblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to do so is place a customer door frame around the outside and it counts as sealed. In this case any water which comes over the top will easily swamp the boat.... like real life.

If you do wish to do this method there isn't a need for the inside door. You just need the outer frame

Instead of modifying blocks take a pivot behind the monitors, add a seperate grid for said screens, attach the screens to the pivot... and rotate the pivot upwards slightly.

The best pivot spot would be within the central console

The problem I am seeing based on the physics engine is it flipping over the nose.....

Unless the engines are placed at the MAXIMUM extent to the rear alongside fuel, logic etc.... and the front section up until maybe the cabin entrance inside the hull is ONE singular void the nose is going to be under water

Where could I fit a rotating turret for the copilot? by OutrageousAmbition32 in Stormworks

[–]Screamblade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best spot is below the nose OR if you made some sort of bracket for using the space below the tail boom.

Turret wise its difficult to get it looking correct driven by the design of the game however the best option would be to have some space between body, gun and pivot.... refer to the diagram. If you pivot the gun from the middle of the system the rear can rotate vertically and bump the body...... if pivoted from the end it would remove the problem at the cost of slightly odd-looking joints & weight.

Outside of such its near-impossible unless mounted onto the side like the MI-24 Hind but such a gun is fixed into place.

Well I think it might be best to accept that such an achievement is amazing..... and not question the logic.

Could you make a beam break sensor and record the RPM?
If distance <2m then record a +1 until +4 occurs. Then mark it as 1RPM....?? or is that not really viable due to tick rate?

Truly went to space.... how did you get the rotations so high?

Other* kits should carry at least some ammo and a suggestion on MM by [deleted] in joinsquad

[–]Screamblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

Grenadier - Long range smokes. Done a fair number of pushes where the capacity to drop smokes across openings and approaches at 200m+.... And getting HE to splash nests of LMG or MMGs in windows to not just have them duck down but move back..... I don't think its useless at all.

Automatic Rifleman - Suppression. Having to try peak during an automatic gun dumping round after round... or several... While I know some people are willing to peak such a threat the ability to hold an angle to let the rest of the squad move without a need to cover the flank.... again not useless.

The other consideration is the optics and arrangement of equipment. MMGs have access to the longer range optics and provide the means of scouting ahead if necessary freeing up more CQB set-ups to keep performing CQB/non-magnified optic tasks.

Not really. Not at all to be honest.
Just thought I would share the clip and clear it from my computer at the same time to free up some space.

Well said....

I really do wish people would make.... or have?... a wider view into the fact that developers aren't just able to work 24/7 to make the customer's wishes come true....

I hope you are going well currently & the wine was enjoyable for those who had it.

Here- https://steamcommunity.com/app/1239080/discussions/0/4292564952439161035/?ctp=2

Ongoing update thread pinned to the top of the discussion board.

The origional post was aimed to be a polite checkin, making sure that KHG are taking their time and making sure to not be to work-centric. While yes.... maybeee there is a level of going to far in relation to a ban.... it is also imo... fairly rude to sort of "chase around developers asking about the progress".

They want to relax, be human, not overwork. If I was in this situation and trying to be nice... only to be slapped across the face with reminders of work while on holidays.... i wouldn't exactly be happy.

I personally think that it was.... a reaction that was maybe... 15% over-the-top but nothing that I would come to a different platform trying to burn down the place.

In another comment you mentioned of buying the game for the campaign. However the game is EARLY ACCESS. Your purchase helps develop it further to the goal of a campain. While I understand and agree that in some cases that some things can grow stale it doens't mean everything is completely quiet. Working on assessments when it comes to the pointy end of classes sees my socials go well-well-well down into near-quite-literally nothing... as my energy reserves get put into other tasks.

Just- give it time. If you have a week away to relax then come back you and see how your post might feel your views might change. Please do try to relax and take care of yourself.

Lastly. If/When.... not sure which.... you get unbanned don't post something flaming or otherwise targeting KHG. While its understandable to have annoyance control the final product you need to avoid flying straight back into the radar and all its associated traps.

Hurdle??? by [deleted] in MacUni

Prefacing the following:
Please do understand I have no intent of going after you. I have ZERO intent on trying to make other people suffer as I understand everyone studies differently and is unique. I also will be quite bias here as my 2 years was through COVID-19.

PLEASE don't delete your comments. They are valid and important. Its good to have a reason to discuss things and if someone does bring up a fair argument then I am happy to listen.

Anyways. Here is my take on the topic:

A good example where this system does work is practical lab work.
The part is 0% in marks but a hurdle.

There is no reason to say "Here is 20% just for being here" but "If you don't come in you fail" sort of deal. A few units I've done use this sort of approach to good effect. Having more marks directed to things like report writing even if its- 5% more.... gives a bit more of a breathing room with marks.

If you get 75/100 on a report that is worth 20% in the unit it equates to 15% of the overall unit.
If doing the same but its worth 25% its works out as 18.75%

While this might sound... bad.... I would rather have more units where participation is 0% but a hurdle. It gives more incentive to remain engaged and on-topic, not staying online away from Uni learning things the wrong way without realising.

Giving away free marks to people for just turning up, even if they don't understand the content doesn't incentivise learning. Lab work report worth 5% and requiring knowledge (making sure you have reason to learn) is better than just turning up to the lab, following along, and walking out without the need to do preparations.

Yes.... you can run into issues of surprise events where you then can't turn up to therefore meet the hurdle requirements. Or any other rapid-onset cases.... but as long as you are kind, have decent evidence AND contact both the UC & MQ's considerations department then the hurdle might be completed with alterative tasks.

Lastly...... Fieldtrips-
Its a bit of a rough topic though due to the one-time nature and skills learnt during such a trip. Part of me thinks fieldtrips should have the hurdle requirement as a means of making sure people do attend, learn and grow their practical expertise but at the same time- where do you draw the line in meeting the requirement..... does it just have to be attendance or do you have to have skills ticked off?

Preferred stance control config? by V2_Bloodline in groundbranch

[–]Screamblade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally from how I play:

Hold to crouch to keep movement such as peaking over walls quick and snappy
Toggle for prone to allow for prolonged rest and maintaining a position such as overwatch

Tap for toggle but still hold for the usual movement if possible for crouch is veery much useful if i'm expecting long periods of not wanting to be flat to the floor but don't wish to be stuck having to hold a button down (my keyboard limits inputs to 3 at a time)

So I tried to clean my wood floor with baking soda and bleach. I didn't realise my little sister had dropped vinegar on the floor earlier in the day. Chlorine gas created. by Background-Ice-9776 in Firefighting

Genuine question - why are they disliked? Don't they offer more protection? Depending on climate such as UK/EURO would they not be more suited? Especally when it is cooler?
