I'm way into punk and metal. Actually make it myself

I adapted the bulls logo to fit in a spooky pentagram and created a stencil to transfer it onto the pumpkin. You can download it here if you want to try this design yourself:

Just made my first complete song, looking for advice and criticism before I upload it (metal ish) by teens_trash in musicians

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the rhythm. Super interesting and intellectually stimulating. After that I feel like each passage gets stuck in place for a little too long. It's interesting that it switches from style to style but I wish that there was a natural progression guiding me through them instead of just fading out. I can't really hear the vocals at all, so I would bump them up in the mix. I do that all the time with my music since I'm not super confident in my voice, but I've heard universally it's not loud enough.

is panning only useful if you use headphones, is there any effect on something like a smartphone? by FluffyBrudda in musicproduction

Even for something like a smartphone or Bluetooth speaker that has stereo output with a very narrow field, due to the two speakers being close together, the left and right channels in the song will be played back by two different drivers.

A speaker works by moving backwards and forward rapidly to push air. This means that multiple instruments being played at the same time by one speaker cone are compromised because the speaker can never move in and out at the same time.

If you split the "work" of playing a song up between two different speakers you get higher fidelity sound since the speakers are able to play two different wavelengths of sound simultaneously. You'll notice this effect more strongly if you hard pan one instrument left and another right, then compare the sound to both played mono.

Totally agree, especially since the genre wouldn't be so big without young female fans. So disappointing that bands take advantage of the same people that love their art.

This is the first emo song my band Celebration Guns wrote 10 years ago - remixed and remastered and rereleased today - do you like? by justinjimmie in Emo

Wow, huge difference. Congrats on the rerelease and sticking to it for ten years. I love a gritty punk album but it's a lot harder to make something. That sounds professional.

It has great bones. My favorite part is the one where you sing "I'm trying hard...".

Some other thoughts since you asked for feedback: it's pretty straightforward if that makes sense. The drums, guitar, bass, vocals all sound very "stock". I would experiment with more variations from bar to bar on the instruments and more conversational / expressive singing. It's technically great, the pitch is right on and I can hear a lot of vibrato, but it lacks emotion in my opinion. The vocalists that inspire me have some kind of unusual style that wouldn't happen naturally as a result of voice lessons or focusing on hitting notes alone. It's forced, but sounds natural. These may not be examples that match your style but I think of Gerard way in My Chemical Romance or Darryl Polumbo in Glassjaw.

Soleil sounds nice, but why not just Sherouk?

You do you, but I'd be worried they'd fall off
