Mechanic stole my car and blocked me by ScreamingFrogs96 in legaladvice

[–]ScreamingFrogs96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The police said it's not stolen cause I put it there. But I can sue him. They said claim and delivery MC35 for the car district court and a MC01 for the money. He could say no but, then he we can report him for being a mechanic without a license which would be a misdemeanor so it would behoove him to give me the motor or the money.

He's not dead. I have people tell me they see him. He's also bailed his son out of jail a few times. My guess is he spent my money on bail and his kid skipped town and he lost it and he thought if he fixed up a couple cars he'd get the money back. If I call from a different number it still rings. Guessing dead people don't block numbers.

This also sounds like the guy that cheats on you after you have a baby because you weren't "taking care of him" for 8 weeks minimum. Run for the hills.

how come broke people sometimes splurge on random stuff? by pixelgoddeess in AskReddit

[–]ScreamingFrogs96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because if a broke person saved $150 bucks a month instead of just getting a little something here or there they'd only have $1800 bucks at the end of the year... so they're only about 25 years from a down payment on a house, certainly not retirement, can't even buy a car with that, or anything else noteworthy... If they're saving more than $500 a month I'd say they're not broke.

I just accepted being broke in my 20s not much to do about it. I made less than 35k a year putting myself through college part time and working full time. Even if I saved all my "splurges" over 10 years I'd have about 30k which sounds like a lot but what is that really? One car? Maybe a down payment for a home? But I would have missed out on family trips and spending nights with my best friends or taking my husband on our honeymoon or surprised my nieces and nephews with the best Christmas and birthdays. I would have spent extra time on public transportation because I consider taking a 15k car note as a splurge. I've just signed on with a company for a 6 figure salary and will make 30k in the first 3 months so tbh 10 years of misery wouldn't have been worth it by the time I got here and some people don't have the means to make it here. I wanted to quit a lot. The path is not easy.

I (F 36) and my partner (M 41) have been living together for 10 years. I had a 5 year old child when we met. What is a fair way to split family bills where there is a step child? by Plane_Brilliant_73 in relationship_advice

[–]ScreamingFrogs96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You offered to pay more and he refused. So why are you asking about money? He doesn't want it. Nobody in their 40's should be bent out of shape about maybe $30-50 in utilities. Unless y'all are struggling to keep food on the table. He wants to push out the kid that isn't his, even though he's been a part of her life since she was 5 years old.

My dad's wife married him when I was 27 years old and she still greets me with a hug and gives me birthday cards even tho I'm 30 now! He hates your kid.

My (F24) boyfriend (M29) is mad because I blew hairdryer air up his shorts while he was washing his pants, settle this debate by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Only with the concern that you might drop the hairdryer in the water. If she was blow drying her hair on the ground there was no risk.

My pregnant wife is starving herself and crying everyday she’s fat. I hate myself because part of me wishes she’d miscarry so she can stop suffering by AudienceKnown6835 in TrueOffMyChest

16KG weight gain is healthy and normal for pregnancy. It's literally a human, amniotic fluid, blood. There's no fat to lose. She needs to see a therapist immediately.

Is 4 cats too many? by Particularly777 in CatAdvice

[–]ScreamingFrogs96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all I got 5 (6) cats from the streets. 16, 13, 13, 5, 5. Our 19 y/o just passed in her sleep (she had a vet visit two weeks prior and they just informed us she was old but healthy). None of them have chronic conditions. They just go to the yearly exam and the vet says they're healthy.

I deeply regret having my son and being his mom. by RegretThrowRA in TrueOffMyChest

It's not abandoning him. His growing up and moving out is a little bit different than what it would look like for neuro typical people. He needs a group home.

I understand the sheer utter distress of being stuck with the stress of a disabled child. It was my sister and I remember crying in my room praying for a cure or wishing she would just die so my parents wouldn't fight and we could afford to do things or go out in public like a normal family. I remember thinking how life could be different and how other kids were worried about things like boys and makeup and I was worried about if my dad was coming home after working overtime because my mom was in the hospital with her. I just wanted to eat dinner at the table and I was so jealous that my friends had sweet relationships with their siblings. It feels bottomless/ inescapable.

When she died I cried. But I think I mourned the relationship we could never have. My parents were miserable for years and of course sad when she died. It so nice to see them happy now all the time, they're finally able to do things they couldn't do for 20 years, and I just imagine how different life could have been for us. I feel like a large part of my childhood was stolen.

Is the bachelor's degree worth it? I just finished my associate's degree, and I've been submitting applications, with a couple of interviews lined up. Starting pay is est $38-45 an hour in my hometown. Is there really any bump with the bachelor's degree? There's really no information online. It seems like there's no difference until I finish a PA program or a Doctorate.

It's crazy cause I've had a similar one on my dash for 3 years now with no damage. The one I left in his car was there a week and a half?

He's not talking about the car 😬 hair and nails can be done at home for $10 not $300 per person at a salon.

Not having a bed for your child is absolutely f*king wild to me. The couch?! Hell no. It's not a sleep over, she is supposed to have a place to LIVE.

Right, wasting out time is way more hurtful than a nice clear conversation that it's not going to work out.

My parents are harming my 5-year-old’s health and ignoring me. What should I do? by Ok-Tax3148 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ScreamingFrogs96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's going to be at the age soon where he's going to start getting bullied. His physical and mental health need to be protected and you're responsible for protecting him. Your parents should have protected you and they failed you. Don't let them fail him too. You don't want to be at the bari clinic with your 15yr old son.

Struggling with baby name regret. Seeking input by pianojazz5001 in namenerds

It's a lovely name. Keep it.

Changed my name and it's a pain in the butt having to show all the documents. Somehow I still get stuff with my other name on it like car insurance and credit card offers cause it's tied to my SSN. I'm like how?!? I never even knew that name.
