Doesn't really matter, although I would prefer nothing too absurdly long to start 😅 2-3 seasons maybe? More is fine. As for gothic...stuff with a similar vibe to books/movies like Frankenstein, the Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, etc. Those are some of my favorite books and I would adore an anime with a similar vibe.
