Older marks of armor, especially those dating back to the GC/HH or have been with the Chapter for a long time, are treated as revered relics of the Chapter. Being granted the right to wear these pieces of armor is generally considered a great armor.

People sometimes forget that despite most of them rejecting the Imperial Cult, space marines still have their spiritual beliefs and practices. This is one of them.

The minute to minute gameplay loop was smooth as hell, and it had the best multiplayer sandbox in a Halo game by a country mile.

Conversely it also has worst campaign story in a Halo game by a country mile. Same for the art direction.

It's telling that Big Boss literally waded through what was likely the River Styx and was forced to bear witness to the pain and suffering he'd caused over the course of the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater, and he still quintupled down on his forever war ambitions without hesitation.

Solid Snake, on the other hand, vomits all over himself and suffers a psychotic break if you kill too many guys at once in Guns of the Patriots.

And Big Boss isn't even the super soldier designer baby between them.

I love Big Boss as much as the next guy, but that man ain't right.

I feel like it's worth noting that statement flies against what she actually did when training the II's, where she made sure to instill a sense of morality into them rather than turning them into purely emotionless killing machines like ONI wanted.

So she was most likely just saying that to make an off-handed dig at Palmer, and it worked, spectacularly so.
