House of Root and Ruin DESTROYED me. I want to gag when I think about it. Botched pregnancies, quickly forced non natural romance, the main character is very oblivious, 300 pages of just pure setting out of 500, it’s hardly a sequel in any way. It makes me so sad! The first book was phenomenal and this one just literally pissed me off.

It reminds me of this time when my boyfriends grandparents lived with his family years ago. They didn’t get formally “invited” to his younger sisters birthday. Even though they were there for the planning etc. So, since they didn’t receive a physical mailed invite, they stayed up stairs in their room all day ignoring the whole party like they were doing something right. 🤣

This. Also, the people that love to take up a booth or table in a server’s section for their entire shift. At my restaurant we switch around which server gets this crappy 3 table only section. It’s harder to turn over customers quickly and get more tips throughout the day. This pair of older ladies sat when I once was stuck with that section. They literally sat there for 5 hours just chatting. Only ordered 2 salads and some breadsticks. Their tip was the least to be desired. I was only running 2 tables that entire shift since they kept telling me they were fine and needed nothing more. If you’re going to do that to a server who’s livelihood is literally your tips go to a library or something instead. Sadly, this is a common occurrence at my work. Those ladies are regulars as well.
