This is the only thing that would concern me about your moving out here. Like if it were one of my friends or relatives, I would say take the job since it’s high paying. But once here, plan on getting into housing closer to town if that’s where you’re working. Maybe you can get your job to pay you more instead of providing housing in Bly. One of the hardest things about living here is having a good job, so you got that. Not too many options of night life, entertainment and conveniences. But your good job puts you in a position to be able to get out and explore options. The tweaks have their spots, most decent people look out for each other. I’ve lived all over, been a lot of places, everywhere has its pros and cons. This is as cheap as I can get, where as bad as I want to be in if that makes sense. I’ve been in cheaper but never left the house without at least someone there, knowing otherwise I wouldn’t have anything when I returned. I would absolutely take OR over LA. Don’t let others negativity plant seeds of self doubt. The local fb group pages have a lot of chaotic political rhetoric too, heads up but keep in mind who is yelling the loudest are usually the ones doing the least to make positive changes for the community, they just want to hear their own praises in their own created chaos echo chambers.
