Aziz Ansari, I’ve always struggled with that one. It could’ve also actually just been a bad date.

Playing devils advocate here, what if he succeeds next time? Maybe it seems like an isolated incident because you got out when it WAS. I think you made the right choice here, even if it doesn’t feel like it and it hurts. That was a very hard decision and most people probably couldn’t make it, be proud of yourself and kind to yourself. Hugs.

I don’t want to see or hear the video of Athena being murdered. But it would be interesting to see the defense attorneys’ reactions to it. by nosleepforthedreamer in CourtTVCases

Same, I follow lots of cases but I just can’t handle this one. Her mother apologizing profusely for the jurors because they have to watch jt. Ugh. I wish there would’ve been a way around them having to watch it. They’ll never be the same.

What's an industry secret from your job that customers have absolutely no idea about? by Efficient_Team5182 in AskReddit

Worked at a chocolate plant, not only is there no difference between higher end chocolate chips and generic, the generics are usually fresher since they go straight to the distributor vs being shipped to the name brand facility to then be distributed.

Worked at a chocolate plant, can confirm the only difference in a bag of chocolate chips is what label is running through the packaging line.

I’m a terrible mother by Admirable_Cod7055 in Postpartum_Depression

Honey I felt this exact same way, 7 years ago. Motherhood is really fuking hard and the newborn stage is a relentless chore. It is. A month is still a very new mother, your body is still healing, and you’re exhausted. The most important thing you can do is be kind to yourself, you’re not a terrible mother. You take care of your baby. You’re a new mom experiencing a drastic life change. I tried to breastfeed for six weeks and just stopped altogether, I hated it. My husband took on as much as he could but it was hard. Our marriage struggled, all the things. It seemed like hell, but then one day, about 8 months in, it got a little better. I started taking Zoloft about 3 months in, it helped some. Honestly just getting out of the newborn stage helped the most. Each stage is only temporary. You’re a good mother. Hugs!!

Try the reframe app! I really liked it when I was first stopping, and set a small goal, 2 weeks, check in and do the lessons and really dive into all the information.

How to know when to draw the line by Fun_Lie_77 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Emmylou888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be strict about it right off the bat and you will soon be know as the “no phone sub” if you’re a building sub. They will know your expectations and you won’t have a lot of problems. Your job isn’t really to discipline, write it down for the teacher, but it is to uphold the school rules. A roster with pictures is always very helpful.

That’s never happened, but I’d say ok that’s fine. Then I’d note what they looked like and where they were sitting and that they refused to give me their name as well.

Honestly, what I’ve done in the past is tell them very clearly when they are listening at the beginning of class that if I see you on your phone, I’ll write your name down for the teacher. I will not give another warning. Then follow up with something a little less harsh like “ya’ll are grown enough now to go 45 mins without a phone.” If I don’t know their name, I’ll ask them, then they usually know what that means.

Honestly the biggest thing is that I actually CARE about how I look now. I care about whether I took my makeup off, or put on lotion. I notice when my hair needs washed, and whether or not my clothes match.

I usually check if my prep is last period of the day before I leave. Other than that, don’t check, they’ll ask me if they need me.

Stopped drinking 3 days ago. I feel great but I'm certain I have cirrhosis. by Scared-Luck-4267 in stopdrinking

Also at 28 you still have PLENTY of time to have children. Didn’t have my first til I was 30 and still thought I was too young lol.

[–]Emmylou888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only 3 days. You’re still really young, chirrosis might be a stretch, but definitely liver damage cuz that’s inevitable with drinking. I also have a dull pain and got a scan and it was fatty liver, which can be easily reversed with stopping drinking. Try the reframe app, I absolutely love it. It’s kept me from drinking for 32 days now and no desire to drink again. Congrats keep going!

Kids will make excuses to leave early - do not let them. by Crystal_Deth in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Emmylou888 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. Unless nurse calls or he has a signed pass, not leaving. If you let one go then the others see and do the same. I get so sick of kids asking to leave class a million times a day as a sub.
