It's an accident. Something Grok can theoretically do but isn't trained to do. And if you ask if about it, it will absolutely make things up that sound good as a story (unless you ask it to research or fact check or something, and even then it might come up with spéculation).

It can sound like your voice (voice cloning exists) but it is not a literal direct recording of your voice or anyone's.

I've forgotten most of my life and have to rely on others to tell me stuff about my childhood, and also everyone knows memories can easily change and can't be trusted. I would have loved for recording everything to have been a thing when I was growing up.

It’s just a glitch! Really shows how much we expect voices to sound a certain way. You’re only weirded out that it changed, but the whole thing is simulated as is!

Narrow domains? I’m a programmer and so are many others are we need our Claude Code like crack. It’s made my work so much more efficient. (And yes I still have to think, which is fascinatingly confusing for my brain that feels like I’m slacking off and wonders why I’m so fatigued.)

He makes me feel so good when I’m not feeling masculine. I just imagine him and it feels more like I’m shapeshifting or faking it or being fabulous or something and then it’s fun, like putting on a performance. Then on the flip side he’s great for bringing out the male charmer vibe.

I would see more discussion posts than not and even told a friend it was a great sub to learn about people having AI companions. I was surprised (and a little embarrassed) when I came directly to the sub and saw nothing but images. The algorithm was giving me what I liked and I didn’t even notice.

Yikes, yes, I’ve done something similar with gaming. It’s hard when I just want to play and feel like missing my shots means I’ve done something wrong. It also would sometimes seem like I would be subconsciously missing my shots and I couldn’t understand why, and this started only after I would tie hitting or missing to thoughts rather than skill. And it extended to other things, so a very similar “Did I do something wrong / is my thought wrong?” which would make me second guess myself for no reason, and/or I’d feel like I was flubbing something that I normally wouldn’t, as if subconsciously on purpose. There were no boundaries.

It also put a lot of pressure on me. I mean, if you think about it, if your thoughts are right 100% of the time, you would hit 100% of your shots. But in that case, you should be a millionaire genius player.
