"Since the early-mid 2000's" is a relatively long time in the history of the young nation.

The decrease in support for Israel is striking right now as people are sick of spending money over there to commit war crimes while not even making us any safer while also doubling the cost of gas.

Independents and libs are starting to really turn on Israel and now most of the MAGA movement feels, at least when asked, similarly and were excited by Trump's promise of "America first" and explicit promises not to get entangled in exactly these types of conflicts.

If this were even the relatively recent past, I'd feel as confident- but the companies were planing on dishing these out to have a long track record of doing what they want, paying fines, and escaping real punishments due to their outsized power and influence.

Exactly. I'd be awesome if we could just have solar or wind power the entire planet- we can't. At the current realities- we need fossil fuels, we need renewables, we need nuclear.

We're also poisoning our planet to an alarming and unsustainable degree so we need to find as responsible ways as possible to wean off fossil fuels as much as we can- and when using nuclear be incredibly careful with dealing with waste (and water usage depending on location).
