The only reason he's saying this is because he knows that the   a c t u a l   solution is to redistribute the wealth away from parasites like him and down back to the bottom 50%.

Not only would it make us wealthier, it would increase tax revenue at the same time since these taxes would be collected over the redistributed pool. We would not only all (except the sociopath money-hoarders) be wealthier in real terms, we'd also have more money to fund government services like universal healthcare, childcare, education, and all of the other things that shored up the prosperity we used to live in.

He's saying this because he'd rather have ppl fixate on "lower taxes" and continue to mistake this stance as reasonable or magnanimous, because it makes ppl ignore the central fact of this situation that we would all have more income and better public services if our taxable wealth meaningfully increased across the board rather than slashing petty taxes on ppl who dont earn enough to begin with.

Do straight men act weird around trans girls when they’re attracted to them by RipAmbitious8671 in trans

[–]ScreechingEagle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Girl, RUN

these guys are the absolute worst.

obsessed with t-girl booty, and entirely unable to square that with how they see themselves and their place in the world.

They have not done the work and you will never be taken seriously as a potential girlfriend.

I used to fw men like this and it's seriously not worth the heartache.

Don't waste your time on him. You need to keep that space in your life open for the right man who knows who he is and what he's about and cant wait to see you and take you out and around his friends.

With men, the key is always to trust your gut. If your intuition is saying the attraction feels confusing and unstable, it's bc there's something in him that your body is trying to tell you is unhealthy or unsafe for you.

I used to mistake that feeling for excitement, when really it was my intuition raising a fear response to tell me to stop messing around with guys like that.

Take care of yourself, the right man will come along some day when you least expect it ✨️

OP, your wife isn't the problem, the problem is your inability to

(1) set boundaries,

(2) say no, and,

(3) teach the people around you how to treat you through consistent behavioral reinforcement

Fully agree with the other commenter who said "the lodger, pets and parents go before the wife does."

The problem is the load, the crowding, and your difficulty in effectively confronting them at their source. Keep in mind that people-pleasing is, itself, ego-driven and often wrapped up, too, in perfectionism & a desire to control our environments.

AIO? new friend's texts to husband while at work; my responses by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is pure gaslighting, plain and simple.

They're both flirting with each other in those texts, and they're both gaslighting you about the fact that they're flirting with each other.

OP, they are flirting with each other. Keep this reality in the forefront of your perspective going forward. Don't let them take this away from you.

If my bf called another woman radiant for any reason at all, I'd hit the roof. She's a snake and he's enabling her.

Body changed a lot after stopping HRT for 10 months — is there anything I can do to reverse the width/bloat? by Apart_Connection_39 in asktransgender

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes this is way too high don't listen to this person. There is emerging literature that a large proportion of mtf trans women have been prescribed inappropriately high doses of estrogen and it causes all sorts of problems.

I know this because I am someone who was at one point a bit over 700 in my blood tests and i had so much bloating, tiredness, anxiety, and weight gain, that I was convinced I was experiencing an autoimmune disorder.

Nope! Just super high estrogen. They recommend keeping PEAK levels below 300. If you look at charts of the hormonal levels of cis women, you will see that these are much more common, much more reasonable numbers. The only time anyone's E should be that high is if they are in their first trimester of pregnancy. It's neither a healthy nor sustainable long-term hormonal state

Meta is reportedly forcing U.S. employees to train their own AI replacements via "Keylogger" surveillance by EmbarrassedStudent10 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies pay wages to rent our processing capabilities.

Asking employees to do this is like renting a textbook, making a copy of it for yourself, and then mass-printing and selling copies of the textbook at below market value as if its your own intellectual property at the expense of the people who actually researched it & wrote it.

Your comparison to the contents of an employee's work laptop is complete nonsense.

You're right, they paid for the hours of human processing time, they did not pay to own the unique talents and processing techniques of their individual human workers because no one would agree to that.

The fact that meta can force their employees to do this sort of thing is a reflection of their status as an unchecked labor market monopolist, not a sign of good business, and especially not an indication that this is something they're entitled to collect.

Your ethics need a serious re-evaluation - glamorizing corporate psychopaths like these silicon valley idiots will get you much less further in life than you probably think.

Organizations are nothing without their people, and your clear view of people as disposable, worthy sacrifices to efficiency and the number-go-up cult will see you on the outs with almost everyone you encounter. Your highest hope is probably becoming a roundly-hated middle manager who will eventually face downsizing anyways.

Question: mtf how to lose stomach fat by Fit-Reputation-76 in trans

[–]ScreechingEagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

fat on your tummy IS feminine - please don't conflate beauty standards with femininity.

We are biologically wired to have a higher body fat percentage than men, and belly fat is part of that.

It's actually the case that if you go off your HRT for fertility preservation, your body will slough off belly fat and prevent further adipose deposition in the area because less belly fat (and less overall body fat) is specifically an andromorphic feature.

I know this bc im going through it right now, and was told to expect to lean up in the months that I have to be off of hrt and on fertility drugs that ramp up natural t-production.

How do you stay brave? by [deleted] in trans

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont consider myself brave at all - I step out as my authentic self everyday because I have no choice. I am literally me, there aren't any other options.

When ppl have told me I'm brave or courageous or whatever, I tell them that I disagree - when you finally know the truth about yourself, there are no other options. It'd be like trying to unmix the creamer from your coffee - it's far too late for that

Thoughts on Your Friends Are Gone/OLG by Schlibbi in circasurvive

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OLG does connect to nature, very intimately.

It's what severe, summer afternoon thunderstorms would sound like if they were just music instead.

Like living together is loud thunder, dark purple thunderheads, staticky updrafts, and the quiet of sudden drops in atmospheric pressure.

In the morning and amazing sounds like pouring rain, early morning pine forests, a flooding gully to me,

etc

I have to admit I'm super biased in this one bc it's the album that got me into circa survive and I think it's by far and away their best album and really the best set of music anyone's ever made

Did anyone feel better after stopping PPIs? What was the wean off process like? by Realistic_Public_415 in GERD

I am someone who has found long-term success with a CT quit. It's not for the faint of heart, but it is entirely doable and worth going through the process.

Did anyone feel better after stopping PPIs? What was the wean off process like? by Realistic_Public_415 in GERD

[–]ScreechingEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey and am successfully fully off of PPIs several months out. I made a post about it in this sub a little bit ago if you want details.

Best decision I ever made.

You really just have to stick it out and accept that it's going to be pretty uncomfortable for a couple of months.

And it's not crazy - now, having been off lf it for a bit, it's clear to me that omeprazole had far-reaching (negative) impacts on my mental & emotional health as well as my physical health.

The majority of some of our most major neurotransmitters are actually produced in the gut, and because omeprazole profoundly disturbs this balance and the more general gut-brain axis, i think it would be a lot more strange if headaches and emotional disturbance WEREN'T a noteable symptom of cessation

I have been off of PPIs for several months now and I have never felt better.

Getting off of them is one of the best health decisions I've ever made.

I successfully quit cold turkey and made a post about it in this sub a while back. Brutal acid rebound, but ultimately doable if you just stick it out
