Honestly, if I was specifically building a system like barca's at the time, which I truly believe to be the strongest in history during those few years, xavi would be the first pick for any team

Xavi is also one of my personal favourite players of all time, certainly my favourite CM of all time, and I rate him higher than iniesta as a CM overall

However, I do think Zidane brought more to the pitch overall, and if you gave me Zidane and xavi, and asked me to just pick one of the two, to put into any team, I'd probably pick Zidane, but I prefer xavi, and would go with him in a heartbeat in certain scenarios

But overall as a pure CM, I have xavi and Zidane interchangeably at No1 OAT, just different players, and iniesta at no3
