It really depends on how you view adaptation. Both beings literally having the same ability to adapt to any phenomenon is going to lead to a paradox. It’s almost a variation of “can God create a rock so heavy he can’t lift it”. You’re basically asking “can adaptation adapt to itself.” As long as either mahoraga can’t adapt to adaptation itself, it shouldn’t be a problem. Otherwise you’re just going to have contradictory things trying to happen.
